Mission Statement The mission of Abell Junior High School's administration and staff is IN THE PURSUIT OF EXCELLENCE for all students and staff. Abell Junior High School will strive to remove any financial, language or other barriers which could prevent or hinder a student from participating in all school activities.

Goal 1: MISD will support high academic standards.
Performance Objective 1: 100% of Abell's core academic classes will use the Cornell note-taking strategy as well as cooperative learning tools to prepare them for rigorous coursework in their current and future academic career. Teachers will use the Curriculum Management Plan stategies and Staar4ward tools to create highly engaged and rigorous instruction.
