Each high school informs us of the requirements for honors placement
Typically students who have a high B/A average on assessments are recommended for Honors
Review course recommendations **if you disagree with a teacher recommendation, speak directly with that teacher.

What do classes look like in High School? Block ScheduleStudents take 4 courses/credits each
semester.1 course passed=1 creditEach course is 90 minutesAn entire year’s worth of curriculum is
compressed into one semester.Grades start accumulating from day
one! No time to “catch up” later in the year!!

Testing Requirements
Three EOC tests must be passed- counts as 25% of grade
1. Common Core Math 12. Biology3. English IIIn courses without an End- of Course test, the final exam shall
count as 20% of the student’s final grade.

NORTH CAROLINA ACADEMIC SCHOLARS RECOGNITION
Students who complete the requirements for this academically challenging high school program are named North Carolina Academic Scholars and receive special recognition, such as a seal attached to their diplomas.
Students must: Complete all the requirements of this North
Carolina Academic Scholars Program.
Have an overall four-year un-weighted grade point average of 3.500
