Explore Mini-City, Eco-SystemsJourney World is a fantastic place where girls ages 5-17 participate in programs that inspire their dreams for the future and the careers they may pursue.

Through a host of program offerings (including workshops, camps and overnights), girls role-play while running the city or saving the planet. They learn about different career options, personal finance skills and how their roles as consumers and producers are important to our economy.

Journey World is a unique, state-of-the-art facility covering 20,000 square feet. It offers adventures of fun and learning on two floors: “It’s Your Future!” and “It’s Your Planet!”

It’s Your Future! – A simulated city that has been custom-ized to adopt and incorporate Chicago-land institutions and businesses. Every “business” uses computers and other digital equipment for a variety of activities as an integral part of their operations. Girls run all aspects of their very own city – from publishing the daily newspaper, running the production studio, distributing goods and services or upholding the laws of the land as the policeman, judge or mayor!

It’s Your Planet! – This is a 10,000-square foot “Eco-Lab” where girls are transformed into young scientists. A crisis is building to a crescendo in the wetlands. A flood has washed away surface soils and drastic erosion is occurring. Excited young “scientists” game-plan solutions to save the ecosys-tem. This dramatic environment realistically portrays four North American ecosystems – Cave, Forest, Prairie and Lake. The activities within each ecosystem challenge the scientists to work together to restore habitats within the facility and beyond to life-sustaining levels.
