7.1 Innovations introduced during this academic year which have created a positive impact on the functioning of the institution. Give details.

7.2 Provide the Action Taken Report (ATR) based on the plan of action decided upon at the beginning of the year

A Brief Report of the Plan of Action

The orientation programme to the newly admitted students gives a comprehensive picture of the

institution and about the persons who are serving in it. We continued this tradition last year

also. The institution has also set the tradition of wel-coming the first year students and the

sending off the final year students. In previous year the wel-come function was held on 30-08-

2014 and the valedictory at the end of the academic year.

The bridge courses bridge the gap of the knowledge of the students between the PU courses and

UG course. When we feel some students need to be bridged their gap, we ask such students to

undergo the course. In previous year we conducted it successfully.

Most of the students of our institution are from rural and semi urban background. Their

communication skill in English and knowledge in commerce is not up to the mark. To make such

students competitive in the said subjects, we conducted spoken English classes, soft skills and

Tally coaching classes by the experts in previous year.

To inculcate the values and the principles of the great men among the students, last year we

celebrated the birth anniversaries of great personalities.

We are practicing some healthy practices to bring physical and mental disciplines among the

staff and students. They are regular attendance, dress code, cultural and sports activities for the

students and bio metrics and teachers evaluation by the students for staff. These all followed

strictly last year.

We humbly believe that alumni and parents are the real well wishers of the institution who

express their valuable opinions during the meetings. Their suggestions helped us to upgrade

Revised Guidelines of IQAC and submission of AQAR Page 22

Teachers evaluation by the students – free coaching of grammar and spoken English – free coaching of tally to B.Com students – bridge courses for newly admitted students – open house discussion – teachers exchange programme

ourselves. When the parents expressed opinions, the alumni members contributed sports

materials to the institution.

The institution strongly believes the fact that, special classes, teacher’s exchange programme,

series of lecturers enhance the perception power of the students, enlarging their sphere of

knowledge. Last year we invited experts from Bangalore, Wits from Gulbarga University and

eminent professors form different colleges.

Percentage of the students is as important as imparting education. The institution in this respect

has taken some steps. Two important among them are the career guidance cell and campus

interview. The first one prepares the students to be successful in exam where the later one gives

them the opportunity of being employees.

It is the firm belief of the institution that environment and community are heart and brain of the

society. We are playing our role sincerely in this regard by encouraging the students to donate

blood and to plant the plants. Last year we did these two under the Red Ribbon club and NSS

wing of the college.

Dr. Ambedkar is a great personality. His writings, thought, ideas, beliefs and ideals are

propagated throughout the year by the Dr. Ambedkar Vichar Vedike. Last year we conducted

many functions including divisional level competitions on prepared speech, debate and self-

composed poem on Dr. Ambedkar.
