Be clear and concise (bulleted lists are best). Employee Relations (30 points) ( Bulleted lists are preferred)  1. What processes are used to maintain a safe, pleasant working environment for employees? (10 points) 2. What techniques are employed to motivate employees through benefits and incentives, i.e. profit sharing, stock ownership, savings plans and/or creative employee incentives, etc.? (10 points) 3. How does the company promote personal and professional growth, decision-making and the development of employees? (10 points)  III. Customer Relations (30 points) ( Bulleted lists are preferred)  1. In what ways does the business consistently demonstrate concern for customer satisfaction and the ethical treatment of customers? (10 points)  2. How does the business demonstrate a commitment to high quality merchandise and/or service? (10 points)  3. What follow-up techniques/pract ices are used to retain customers? (10 points)

IV. Community Relations (30 points) (Bulleted lists are preferred) 

1.  How is the business location maintained: is the location well lit, clean, attractive and safe;does the building and its landscaping enhance the surrounding area? (Applies to both

commercial and home-based areas) (10 points)

2. How does the business and owner, as a whole, participate in local Benton/Franklin county

community affairs? Example: Chamber(s) of Commerce, civic organizations, etc. (10 points)

3. How are staff (non-owners) involved in Benton-Franklin communities? Example: participation in

City Council business, volunteer work, community board of directors, etc. (10 points)

V. Supporting Documents and Presentation (5 points)

  Attach up to ten (10) documents supporting your nomination. Consideration will be given to therelevancy of the documents. (Awards, letters of support, outstanding achievements, etc.)

Scoring of Nomination Application Packets

Points are awarded for complete and accurate information with clear and concise descriptions. Consideration

is also given to overall package presentation. Relevancy of attachments and attention to details, such as

spelling and grammar will be considered. We have posted a Maximum Scoring Tips – Nomination Application  

on the website that has some suggestions for preparing your application.
