ADVENTURE CHALLENGE SCENARIO

MISSION BACKGROUND

• A foreign government’s state-of-the-art fighter jet plane has crash landed in a remote valley of an enemy country. A small group of elite commandos, Alpha Patrol, was sent in to retrieve a mysterious black box from the crash site. Alpha Patrol was successful in finding the crash site. Unfortunately, the enemy found Alpha Patrol before they could retrieve the black box. The last radio call from Alpha Patrol said they were leading the enemy away from the crash site, so someone else would have a chance to retrieve the black box.

Your Patrol’s mission is to:

• Successfully lead your patrol of trained scouts on a series of challenge events to complete your mission. In doing so, you must utilize all of your various scout skills and work as a team in the completion of each event. You will be tested on yourleadership, decision making and teamwork during your mission. You mission will have four basic elements of which you need to successfully complete to gain the maximum amount of points.

– It is recommended that every scout come prepared with a daypack and their ten essentials on this mission

– No other materials will be supplied to the scouts

• On you mission you will be challenged in the following four competition elements:

– Make sure your patrol is prepared and physically fit for the mission. (Event #1 – Adventure Preparedness)

– Find the jet plane crash site and recover the black box. (Event #2 – Navigation Challenge)

– Set-up your base camp, and prepare for your next mission. (Event #3 – Camping Challenge)

– Render aid to Alpha Patrol (Event #4 – Emergency Preparedness)

• Good Luck.
