SMARTPACK DIRECT EXPANSION HIGH EFFICIENCY PACKAGED AIR CONDITIONER ROOF TOP CKN-XHE SERIES AIR-AIR HEAT PUMP Air flow rate from 2200 to 9600 m3/h

SMARTPACK is the high efficiency packaged ―roof top "air conditioning unit designed to provide make-up air and the energy recovery in the served zone.

Easy to position thanks to its compact dimensions, SMARTPACK simplifies system installation and increases its reliability. It contains In fact all the functions that, in traditional systems, are entrusted to separate products and components that must be first carefully selected and then assembled on site.

The automatic on-board control makes it possible to be used by non-specialised personnel, guaranteeing considerable savings in operating costs thanks, also to its high efficiency.

SMARTPACK is therefore the ideal decentralised solution for the air-conditioning of shops, showrooms, outlet villages, bar and restaurants, service stations, small and medium service rooms and productive areas.

FOR MANY BUSINESSES, SUCCESS DEPENDS ON THE RIGHT COMFORT OF THE USERS

A correct air-conditioning is an essential component in the management of various sales areas. Optimum temperature and humidity, air purification and correct ventilation are primary factors that guarantee to users and operators to remain in these spaces independently of outdoor conditions. This is what happens in single shops as well as in outlet villages, automobile showrooms and in modern service stations. Make-up air becomes even more a determining factor in restaurants, to control odours and vapours. Ventilation and air conditioning are also fundamental in service rooms for the proper operation of the equipment they contain.

ROOFTOP UNITS ARE OFTEN THE BEST SOLUTION FOR AIR CONDITIONING THE ENVIRONMENTS LOCATED IN A SINGLE AREA

Despite their apparently low costs, split and multisplit direct expansion systems have a lot of limits in these applications. For example, they require a separate system for the treatment of the primary air. The pipes that contain the refrigerant cross the served rooms and therefore they are subject to restrictions and use limitations. From a technical point of view they cannot operate in freecooling mode, which is very efficient and convenient thanks to the generated energy savings. On the other hand, the hydronic systems are certainly more complete and versatile. They make it possible to adopt various types of terminals in the served environment, from fan coil units exposed or integrated in the furnishings, up to radiant or induction systems. The cost for medium and small installations is often higher as they are more complex and require more labour for installation, start-up and adjustment. In this context, many rooftop solutions available on the market help to simplify the installation as they reduce the quantity and quality of operations performed at the worksite. On the other hand, these units are often not very versatile and rather noisy, with limited functions, mediocre energy performance and a not very long lifetime.

CLIVET ROOFTOP UNITS ARE EVEN MORE ADAPTABLE, SIMPLE TO USE AND CONSUMPTION REDUCING

With more than twenty years of technological evolution, Clivet rooftop units represent the state of the art in climate control for large commercial and industrial environments. The specialised ranges for applications with medium to high occupancy are widely used in buildings such as hypermarkets, shopping centres, multiplex cinemas and restaurants. Their success is based on their high energy efficiency, their compact size and operation and maintenance simplicity as well as the great flexibility in selecting best suited the model for the specific installation.

COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES

SMARTPACK IMPLEMENTS CLIVET'S TECHNOLOGICAL EVOLUTION IN SMALL AND MEDIUM SIZED COMMERCIAL APPLICATIONS

High efficiency Scroll compressors, electronically controlled fans, automatic renewal air management and air quality control through an integrated CO2 probe, Freecooling, heat pump with extended functional limits, thermodynamical energy recovery, variable capacity versions: these are just some of the technologies available with SMARTPACK, a range of models that are ideal for air conditioning small and medium sized commercial and industrial rooms.

Their compact size and strength to weathering agents makes it possible to install them outside of the served rooms: this results in maximum integration with internal furnishings and simplifies periodic maintenance, which can be completely performed without accessing the environment.

SMARTPACK simplifies the system and reduces the cost Thanks to its packaged design, the system components are already enclosed and installed inside the unit. The heating or cooling energy generated by the unit is transferred directly to the served environment . This eliminates all internal units, pipes, cables and technical spaces for their connection, and therefore also their related purchase and installation costs.

SMARTPACK frees up precious space Its very compact design, even in comparison to rooftop units of the same size available on the market, makes it quick and easy to position it on a flat roof, in an attic or on the ground. All of the features are provided by Clivet already assembled and tested onboard, differently then other manufacturers who make numerous additional components available to be installed on site.

SMARTPACK reduces consumption and operating costs The high efficiency of the adopted technological solutions considerably reduces the energy required for their proper operation. This results in lower operating costs and CO2 emissions, to the benefit of the environment. The constructive rationality also simplifies the maintenance operations, resulting in a farther reduction in annual expenses for the user.

THE SYSTEM IS INCLUDED INTO A SINGLE UNIT

SMARTPACK contains all the components that are necessary for its proper operation. In the standard configuration (Clivet reference key CAK), the return air is filtered and treated by the direct expansion cooling circuit and then introduced again into the area to be air conditioned. The configuration with the fresh air damper (Clivet reference key CBK) allows to introduce a predetermined quantity of renewal air.

The automatic control with a microprocessor is based on the conditions detected by the sensor installed in the served area and on those of the outdoor air. If the application is not suited for the installation of sensors in the served area, the optional on-board temperature and humidity probes are available.

SMARTPACK is also available in the optional configuration equipped with air extraction and exhaust system (Clivet reference key CCK). This functionality is implemented with an extraction fan, which draws a part of the return air and ejects it on the outdoor finned coil exchanger, performing the thermodynamic energy recovery. This increases the seasonal efficiency of the direct expansion circuit, avoiding the large pressure drops typical of traditional static or rotary recovery units. This version also includes the automatic control of the modulating fresh air dumper and the freecooling function, which allows the cooling of the served area without activating the compressors.

VERSION WITH EXTRACTION AND EXHAUST

6a. Extraction and exhaust fan Electronically controlled, it extracts the unhealthy air from the served area and it exhausts it outside after the thermodynamic energy recovery. It allows automatic Freecooling operating.

VERSATILE, EFFICIENT, ENCREASES THE VALUE OF YOUR REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT

SMARTPACK significantly reduces the initial system costs in comparison to traditional solutions based on hydronic systems with separate production, for example with chillers and boilers, or on direct expansion systems with renewal of air. Most usual system activities are already carried out by Clivet inside the unit: - Component selection and sizing - Mechanical and hydraulic connections - Electrical and control wirines - Functional test. The user simply has to connect the air distribution ducts and power the unit.

INCREASING THE VALUE OF THE BUILDING AND REDUCING OPERATING COSTS The numerous technical solutions used in SMARTPACK's cooling circuit and ventilating sections makes it possible to obtain very high overall efficiency levels. This also reduces seasonal consumption up to 50% in comparison to traditional solutions. As a result, this also reduces operating costs and the environmental impact of the system, thanks to the lower amount of primary energy needed for its function. The reduction in the overall requirement for primary energy, in comparison to traditional solutions, improves the building's energy performance and therefore its market value.

GREAT SIMPLIFICATION OF THE INSTALLATION AND INCREASE OF RELIABILITY

MADE FOR COMFORT AND BUSINESS The numerous options and accessories that are available make it possible to always select the best solution, based on the following factors: - Outdoor climate, thanks to configurations for hot, temperate, severe or

extremely severe climates; - Building type and layout of the technical spaces, with possible positioning

on the roof, in the attic or on the ground; - Typical application and operating profile thanks to the version with 100%

recirculation, with fresh air intake and also with integrated exhaust system; - Required comfort level, with high efficiency filtration, air quality control,

devices for humidity control; - Importance of the energy savings for the user, thanks to functions such as

freecooling, energy recovery, modulation of the renewal air, external electronically controlled ECOBREEZE ventilating section.

HIGH/EXTREMELY HIGH ENERGY EFFICIENCY SMARTPACK is available in two versions that differ in the technology used for the direct expansion circuit: CONSTANT POWER UNIT equipped with a high efficiency Scroll compressor, electronic controlled expansion valve and high thermodynamic efficiency exchangers. VARIABLE POWER UNIT also equipped with automatic regulation of the output power for maximum energy efficiency all year long.

REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT OPTIMIZED FOR ENERGY SAVING AND RELIABILITY

Besides taking advantage of the technical features adopted for the constant power units, the variable power unit favours the production energy efficiency. This is made possible thanks to the partialisation of the compressor capacity and the regulating system which provides the system only with the capacity that is actually required. In this case, the conditions of the introduced air vary constantly for maximum user comfort. The adopted solution uses Digital ScrollTM technology or different sized compressors on the same cooling circuit depending on the unit size.

STABLE AND RELIABLE OPERATION

The electronic expansion valve (EEV) adapts rapidly and precisely to the actual load required for usage, allowing stable and reliable adjustment in comparison with mechanical thermostatic valves (TEV). This results also in a further increase in efficiency and longer compressor life.

HIGH RELIABILITY SCROLL TECHNOLOGY

The entire range uses high efficiency orbiting spiral Scroll compressors. The advantages are:

- Compressors manufactured in large numbers on an industrial

scale, with strict quality checks and highest reliability thanks to the high scale mass production volumes.

- High energy efficiency

VARIABLE POWER UNIT

Using a simple and robust geometry composed by of a single constant power compressor in combination with a high efficiency cooling circuit, the unit delivers the adequate heating and cooling capacity to the system. This is made possible thanks to the regulating logic which sequentially activates the compressors in order to reach the required comfort and keep the ambient temperature constant.

OPERATION: CONTINUOUS MODULATION OF THE SUPPLIED POWER

USEFUL EFFECT: MAINTAINING THE REQUIRED TEMPERATURE

As maximum power is only required for short periods of time, it is very important to achieve maximum efficiency in partial load conditions. By using only one of the two compressors, efficiency is increased by more than 40%, thanks to the larger heat exchange surfaces. In addition, the selection of different sized compressors makes it possible to obtain more adjustment steps, providing only the effectively necessary energy for use. By continuously adapting itself to the inlet air conditions in the environment, this solution also improves comfortable conditions for the users and operators.

ADVANCED HEAT PUMP

INTELLIGENT DEFROSTING MANAGEMENT

The standard defrosting cycle management involves the stop of the ventilation. This reduces the time required for defrosting and prevents the introduction of too cold air in the served area, maintaining comfortable conditions for the users.

The particular heat pump technology developed for CLIVET PACK guarantees its continuous and reliable operation. The ICE PROTECTION SYSTEM prevent the formation of ice at the base of the external exchanger during winter operation, thanks to a special sub-cooling circuit. This prevents the exchanger damages caused by freezing.

The automatic defrosting cycles on surfaces of the external exchanger are managed by SMARTPACK in a predictive manner, which reduces both the frequency and the duration. The on-board electronic regulation analyses not only the external conditions but also the changes of the evaporating pressure in the exchanger.

COILS PROTECTED AGAINST THE FORMATION OF ICE

HIGHLY EFFICIENCY HEATING SOLUTIONS The reversible heat pump version of SMARTPACK is also able to operate with particularly severe outdoor temperatures. In many areas these conditions only occur for short periods effective use of the system. The use of electric heaters (I) makes it possible to maintain the advantages of the packaged solution, both in terms of design simplicity and installation rationality. The electric heaters can turn on automatically as auxiliary elements to preheat the external air before being treated by the heat pump. Alternatively, the optional hot water coil (II) extends the operating range of the units in even colder climates. It also integrates the heating capacity by preheating the external air before being treated by the heat pump. It can also take automatically the function of main heating source below an outdoor temperature selected by the user. This can be done, for example, after evaluating the costs associated with the energy sources in the specific cases. The hot water coil is activated automatically in emergency mode in the case of a heat pump failure. The ‗Electric panel antifreeze protection' option is necessary in very cold climates.

ACTIVE ENERGY RECOVERY OF THE EXHAUST AIR

The energy contained in the exhaust air is recovered by forcing the air flow to pass through the external finned coil exchanger. This reduces the electric energy absorbed by the compressors, increases overall unit efficiency and extends its operating limits. Such thermodynamic recovery system does not involve additional electric consumption by the fans, unlike the rotary or crossed flow recovery system. The greater electric consumption caused by strong pressure drops on the air side of the rotary or crossed flow recovery systems often equals the amount of energy recovered and in some situations even exceeds it.

FREE COOLING

As soon as the external conditions allow it, the unit is capable of automatically activating the free-cooling mode, which, keeping the compressors off and drawing in suitably filtered fresh air allows to cool the served room. . This operating mode is especially useful in spring and autumn or in case of high ambient loads. It allows substantial

reduction of the unit energy consumption and compressors.

When operating in heat pump mode, the exhaustion of pre-treated air on the external exchanger reduces the possibility of ice formation and consequently the number of defrosting cycles thanks to the external and hot exhaust air mix. The result is a smoother continuous operation and overall unit efficiency improvement.

AMBIENT PRESSURE CONTROL DEVICE

The ambient pressure control device, which compares the intake air pressure with the external air pressure, detects if the pressure is too high, too low or if it is balanced whether the served room is in over-pression or under-pression conditions.

Using the external air damper, the unit is able to compensate the difference of pressure and to keep the served room at the required pressure. The pressure is regulated basing on the unit settings defined at the start-up.

SANDWICH PANELS WITH IMPROVED THERMAL INSULATION AND ACCESSIBILITY

The use of “sandwich” panels reduces the thermal dispersions and then the energy consumptions. The panels have dual walls in steel sheet metal with polyurethane insulation and feature seal gaskets along the diameter. The door used to access to the air handling area, manufactured with this technology, is moreover characterized with seal gaskets, handles, for a safe use, and adjustable locks, simplifying the access to the unit for the maintenance.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS OF UNITS

WITH EXTRACTION AND EXHAUST SYSTEM Units equipped with an extraction and exhaust section (Clivet reference CCK) have unique advantages that make

SMARTPACK the ideal tool for maximizing energy savings.

HIGH EFFICIENCY VENTILATION WITH ELECTRONIC CONTROLLED FANS

HOW TO IMPROVE VENTILATION WHILE REDUCING IS CONSUMPTION A significant portion of the running costs of the fresh air systems is due to the consumption for ventilation. To this there should be added the charge for the study of the correct operating conditions, and for the required long and precise calibrations at the worksite. The SMARTPAK ventilation technique allows both of these operational costs to be greatly minimised.

EFFICIENCY OF THE ELECTRONIC CONTROLLED MOTOR The external rotor electric motor is driven by the continuous magnetic switching of the stator. The advantages are: - The absence of brushes and the particular power supply system increase efficiency by 70%; - Even the life cycle increases, thanks to the elimination of the natural wearing effects of the brushes; - The electronic control also includes a "soft start" solution, which drastically reduces the starting current of the fan and limits even more the electrical requirements of the system.

ADVANTAGES OF DIRECT COUPLING (PLUG FAN) The rotation of the motor is transmitted directly to the impeller, without the use of transmissions (belts and pulleys): - The inefficiencies of the transmission are eliminated; - The belt consumption and maintenance are eliminated.

EC

TECHNO-

THE EFFICIENCY OF THE VENTILATION SYSTEM INCREASES BY 30% The whole ventilation system, composed by the impeller and the motor, is therefore very versatile and efficient. The consumption is 30% lower compared to a ventilation system of the same capacity used on traditional units available on the market.

THE RIGHT AIR FLOW RATE FOR EVERY TYPE OF SYSTEM

By controlling the fan speed, the air flow rate can be varied and the static pressure capacity can be adapted to the system pressure drop, making the unit start-up particularly simple. The adjustment or modification of the transmission is no longer required as the ventilation system will adapt itself to the system. The possibility to modify the fan start-up ramp makes this unit suitable for most applications with textile air distribution ducting.

VERSATILITY OF REVERSED BLADES IMPELLERS This particular type of impeller offers a wider field of operation compared with a traditional straight-bladed fan. When necessary, it can produce high static pressures simply by varying the number of revolutions. The accurate balancing and the self-lubricating bearings ensure its rotating stability over time.

The external axial fans have an innovative Winglet profile with an integrated flap which increases the aerodynamic efficiency. This solution reduces the consumption by 10% and it has an average sound emission level which is 6 dB lower in comparison to

traditional fans.

HIGH EFFICIENCY OUTDOOR FANS WITH LOW NOISE EMISSION

Electrical power absorbed by the electric motor, manufactured data - Example, referred to 7.800 m3/h, air flow at 500 Pa external static pressure.

AIR QUALITY ALWAYS UNDER CONTROL

HIGH AIR FILTRATION EFFICIENCY

HOW TO INCREASE THE FILTRATION EFFICIENCY WHILST MINIMISING ITS OPERATIONAL COSTS

High efficiency filters (F7 category) of a traditional system increase the energy spent on ventilation, because of greater loss of pressure. These also require more frequent maintenance, with a significant cost at the end of each year to replace the filters. The electronic filters available for SMARTPAK make outdoor air filtering even more efficient and at the same time they reduce costs for ventilation and maintenance compared with traditional systems.

GAINS ALREADY FROM THE SECOND YEAR OF OPERATION The reduction of ventilation consumption is the first item of saving for electronic filters. Savings on maintenance are even more evident, because electronic filters are washable and do not need to be replaced at regularly as traditional filters. Taking as reference the price of a standard unit, the total yearly running cost is reduced from over 20% for the version with traditional-bag filters to less than 8% thanks to the electronic filters. The deriving payback is usually less than one and a half years.

THE VENTILATION ENERGY IS REDUCED The very high efficiency of filtration is achieved with very low pressure drops. These are dependant on the metal pre-filter located upstream of the plates to trap the largest particles, to homogeneously distribute the air flow and to contain the magnetic field generated during operation.

VERY HIGH FILTRATION EFFICIENCY

The efficiency of electronic filters on SMARTPAK is equivalent to classification H10 used in traditional filters, that is the category indicated as "absolute filter". These are effective even against smoke, fine dust, particulates PM10, PM2,5, PM1, bacteria, germs and viruses.

Air filtration is a compulsory function in order to correctly maintain conditions of wellness and hygiene in the served environments. For this reason, it is subjected to precise regulations based on the specific applications. The units are provided standard with large surface area and low pressure drop filters with a G4 efficiency level.

PRESSURE DROPS OF OPTIONAL COMPONENTS

The value of static pressure available on the supply and return duct is obtained by subtracting from the available net maximum pressure (see general table of technical data) the pressure drops of any accessories.

The values shown are to be considered approximate for units operating power in normal use with standard air flow rate.

CHW2 - 2 - row hot water coil Pa 17 24 20 27 23 33 22 31

CPHG - hot gas re-heating coil Pa 10 15 10 15 10 15 10 15

FES - electronic filters Pa 39 60 43 63 55 80 60 83

The performance takes into account the pressure drops in the unit (pressure drops in treatment, standard filters, etc.) To determine the performance required of the fans, you must add to the usable static pressure desired the pressure drops of any accessories.

The integrated heating capacity represents the real heating capacity considering the defrost cycles too. To obtain the integrated heating capacity multiply the heating performance value in kWt ( shown in the heating performance tables) by the coefficients indicated in the table. D.B. = DRY BULB W.B. = WET BULB ATTENTION! In prolonged heat pump operating mode with negative outdoor temperatures, it is important to remove the water produced from the defrosting cycle to prevent ice from accumulating near the unit's base. Pay attention so this does not represent a hazard to people or property.

The integrated heating capacity represents the real heating capacity, including the effect of possible defrosting cycles. To obtain the integrated heating capacity multiply the heating performance value in kWt ( shown in the heating performance tables) by the coefficients indicated in the table = at page 19 D.B.

The option is indicated for cold climate and permit to preheat the inlet air to the water treatment battery and to extend the work limit. Ideal for places where the outside temperatures to active the heaters during for a short in all year. In these cases the simplification of the system is widely offset than conduction cost. The fins are made of aluminium, with a size suitable to ensure high efficiency and maintain low power density on the surfaces to limit overheating. The low temperature of the heating elements increases their lifespan and limits the effect of air ionization. The electrical heating elements are managed by a thermal control device with two power settings. The electric heater activation depends on the outside air temperature. This electric heater generate a preliminary treatment of the outside air before entering into the active thermodynamic heat recovery exchanger. Just in case the outdoor air temperature might be lower than the set parameter inside the electronic control, the unit stops both electric heater and ventilation in order to introduction of too cold air in the served area.

WATER COIL PRESSURE DROPS : AIR SIDE

This option reduces the available static pressure (air side).

The component requires connection to the plumbing system (to be provided for by the client).

Water coil and electric heaters cannot be mounted at the same time.

WATER COIL PRESSURE DROPS : WATER SIDE

PRESSURE DROPS ON THE WATER SIDE ARE CALCULATED CONSIDERING AN AVERAGE WATER TEMPERATURE OF 65°C QW = WATER FLOW-RATE (L/S) DP = PRESSURE DROP THE WATER FLOW RATE MUST BE CALCULATED WITH THE FOLLOWING FORMULA

QW [L/S] = P / (4,186 X DT) P = HEATING CAPACITY / COOLING IN kW DT = TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WATER INLET / OUTLET

THE AIR SIDE PRESSURE DROPS ARE RELATIVE TO THE MEDIUM AIR TEMPERATURE OF 20°C AND ARE TO BE ADDED TO THE PRESSURE DROPS DUE TO DUCTS, TERMINAL DEVICES AND ANY OTHER COMPONENT THAT CAUSES A DROP IN WORKING DISCHARGE HEAD. QA = AIR FLOW DP = PRESSURE DROP

CHW2 - TWO-ROW HOT WATER COIL

Option recommended for very cold climates since it allows heating of the served room. The battery is equipped with a thermostat for the anti-freeze function. The anti-freeze function is always active, even when the unit is in standby. If necessary, it forces opening of the valve to the maximum allowable value for allow passage of water in the coil and to prevent the formation of ice. The hot water coil allows the integration of the capacity provided by the heat pump and, being placed before the handling coil, it operates as air pre-heating extending the unit operating limits. As alternative, it may operate in complete substitution of the thermal capacity provided by the compressors.

This is possible by setting a turning point, i.e. a temperature limit of the fresh air below which use of the compressors is blocked, and the water coil is used as the sole resource. If the water coil provides pre-heating of the air, the control logic reduces its power to a preset value, which keeps the compressors from working with condensation temperatures that are too high. If instead the water coil is used as the main resource (e.g. because the compressors are not available), the maximum power will be provided.

CSOND - TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY CONTROL WITH ON-BOARD PROBE

This option makes it possible to measure the ambient temperature and humidity directly on the air flow entering the unit. The automatic thermal regulation is done using the on-board probes, whereas the probes on the remote control are inhibited. The post-heating coil is heated by the hot gas piped by the delivery pipe.

CPHG - HOT GAS RE-HEATING COIL

1) External air and humidity / temperature probe 2) Air cooled and dehumidified on inside exchanger (evaporator) 3) Hot gas bypass valve 4) Treated air by the re-heating exchanger 5) External exchanger (condenser)

This option is recommended during the summer when dehumidification of the room is required. The flow of air to enter the room may contain a higher level of humidity than desired. The dehumidification process is used to reduce it. The air flow is first cooled in the treatment coil with separation of condensation. It is then freely post-heated to maintain the desired condition of comfort in the room served. The post-heating coil is located behind the treatment coil and is activated by drawing a flow of hot gas down the line from the compressors through the action of a dedicated solenoid valve. The process starts working based on the humidity set-point established by the user. With respect to traditional devices, such as electrical heating elements or hot water coils, the use of the post-heating coil does not consume any energy. It also lowers the condensation temperature, which provides two positive effects: the power absorbed by the compressors is considerably reduced, and at the same time the cooling power is increased with greater efficiency (EER).

This option reduces the available static pressure (air side).

The measurement of the ambient humidity is done using the electronic ambient control wall unit with a humidity probe (supplied standard with the unit).

GRANDEZZE

COMBINATIONS ELECTRODE BOILER STEAM HUMIDIFIER

This operation involves variation of the main electrical data of the unit

The original technology used eliminates the need for on-site calibration of traditional fans, as well as the time that would be required and the associated costs. The required flow rate is set on the display by the user and maintained automatically by the unit, which adjusts the speed of the ventilating sections. During the installation and start-up phase, the unit adjusts to the effective pressure drop in the air distribution and diffusion system. Furthermore, during its entire operating life, the progressive fouling of the air filters is automatically compensated for thanks to this system.

PCOS - CONSTANT OUTFLOW AIR FLOW RATE

FCE - ENTHALPIC FREE COOLING

CREFP - DEVICE TO REDUCE CONSUMPTION OF FANS OF TOF THE EXTERNAL SECTION (PHASE CUTTING)

The device makes it possible to control the external axial fans, adjusting their speed of rotation based on the condensation pressure. When fresh air temperature is low, a minimum air flow rate is required to hold down the condensation pressure. Therefore, at low fresh air temperatures, fan rotation speed is reduced, resulting in reduced energy consumption (low temperature device). In certain applications where the outdoor temperature is low and outdoor air cannot be introduced to cool the served environment (free cooling) the phase cutting device ensures correct unit operation. In heat pump mode, this device reduces the fan rotation speed when the outdoor air temperatures are high (high temperature device).

The measurement of the ambient humidity is done using the electronic ambient control wall unit with a humidity probe (supplied standard with the unit).

This option is used to reduce energy consumption and compressor wear by using the outdoor air as an energy source to lower the thermal loads and ambient humidity. The temperature control compares the temperature and the humidity between the outdoor environment and the served environment and decides the amount of renewal air needed to guarantee the correct temperature and humidity set-points in the environment, keeping the compressors shut off.

The measurement of the ambient temperature and humidity is done using the electronic ambient control wall unit with a humidity probe (supplied standard with the unit).

FES - HIGH EFFICIENCY ELECTRONIC AIR FILTER (EQUIVALENT TO CLASS H10)

Class H10 high-efficiency filters are additional filtering components with an active electrostatic system. Solid or liquid particles contained in the air flow are trapped by and electrical field. The air flow through the filter is affected in two main phases: release of an electrical charge to the particles (ionization), and capture of the particles by electrostatic deposit (captivation). On a periodic basis, the filters must be washed to remove the captured particles. The filters are capable of trapping fine dusts, some types of viruses and micro-organisms (anti-bacterial action) with very modest pressure drops. The range of use normally includes fine powders that measure less than 1 µm. Typical pollutants are cigarette smoke (0.5÷0.3 µm), oily vapours (1÷0.2 µm), PM10 (particles < 10 µm), PM2.5 (particles < 2.5µm), PM1 (particles < 1µm), etc.

The fouling of the electric filter is indicated by a sensor, after which periodical maintenance can be scheduled, which is easy to perform by simply washing the filter with a non-aggressive detergent for aluminium and water. The greater initial cost in comparison to a traditional bag filter is amortised in a short period of time, considering that the useful life of the electrostatic filters is the same as the unit whereas the bag filters must be periodically replaced.

PSSAF - DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SWITCH FOR DIRTY AIR FILTERS

It makes it possible to detect and signal (with a suitable alarm) when the dirtiness of the air filter reaches its maximum level. This provides the unit operator with information on when filter maintenance is required. The detection signal is installed in the unit. It is already connected to the electrical panel and pre-calibrated in the factory. Calibration can be modified by a specialized service centre during the commissioning phase.

FLOW OF CONTAMINATED IONIZATION CAPTIVATION

This operation involves variation of the main electrical data of the unit.

This option reduces the available static pressure (air side).

PAQC - AIR QUALITY SENSOR FOR CO2 P.P.M. CONTROL

This option is recommended for areas with highly variable rates of traffic. The probe measure the amount of CO2 in the environment and sends the unit a 0/10V proportional signal. Based on the received signal, the unit manages the input of the correct amount of refresh air, preventing wasted energy and money due to a treatment of fresh air in excess of actual needs. The probe is installed and wired on board the unit and is located in the unit supply duct.

PAQCV - AIR QUALITY SENSOR FOR CO2 AND VOC P.P.M. CONTROL

The option is recommended in areas with tobacco smoke, formaldehyde (from solvents, deodorants, glues, paints, detergents), food preparation, etc. The probe measure the amount of CO2 and VOC (volatile organic compounds) in the environment and sends the unit a 0/10V proportional signal.

Based on the received signal, the unit manages the input of the correct amount of refresh air, preventing wasted energy and money due to a treatment of fresh air in excess of actual needs. The probe is installed and wired on board the unit and is located in the unit's supply duct.

PM - PHASE MONITOR

The phase monitor makes it possible to check the correct connection of the phases and their imbalance in units powered with a tri-phase system. If the connection of the phases is not correct, or the threshold of phase imbalance is exceeded, or the voltage is too high or too low for a certain amount of time, the monitor acts on the control circuit and orders the unit to be shut down. As soon as nominal line conditions are restored, the unit is automatically reset.

PFCP - POWER FACTOR CORRECTION CAPACITORS (COSFI > 0.9)

The component is necessary to lower the phase difference between current and voltage in the electromagnetic components of the unit, such as asynchronous motors. By re-phasing it is possible to reduce the intensity of the line current by reducing a part of the power of the mains (reactive power). This leads to an economic benefit which the energy provider grants to the final user. The component makes it possible to bring the cosfi power factor to values which on average are greater than 0.9.

It allows serial connection of supervision systems, using ModBus as the communication protocol. It allows access to the complete list of operating variables, controls and alarms.

LONW - SERIAL PORT RS485 WITH LONWORKS PROTOCOL

Consente il collegamento seriale a sistemi di supervisione, utilizzando LonWorks come protocollo di comunicazione. Permette l‘accesso ad un elenco di variabili di funzionamento, comandi ed allarmi conforme allo standard Echelon.

MOB - SERIAL PORT RS485 WITH MODBUS PROTOCOL

AGQ - ELECTRIC PANEL ANTIFREEZE PROTECTION

This option is necessary for very cold climates where the outdoor temperature may be between –10°C and –20°C. This option includes self-regulating thermostat controlled heaters that protect the electric panel against freezing, guaranteeing that is will operate correctly.

This accesory is always operating even at switched off unit on condition that the power supply is maintained active and the unit isn‘t sectionized.

This operation involves variation of the main electrical data of the unit.

It’s necessary to provide appropriate precautions to avoid stock pile snow and ice in front of the inlet and outlet air.

CMS - CLIVET MASTER SYSTEM

CLIVET MASTER SYSTEM (CMS) is the ideal system for the control of air conditioning systems. It is able to manage up to six Roof-top units . Through a single controller, with a built-in touch screen 5,7‖, it is possible to easily and intuitively access to all information about the air-conditioning system status and units. Among the main functions it allows: the automatic recognition of connected units, the setting of all parameters of the system and of the single unit, the visualization of the unit status, the alarm control and management, the operating hourly scheduling and the rotation of the units also for single zone. The data exchange between the system control and the unit is via RS-485 serial connection. For further information refer to the technical documentation.

MHP - HIGH AND LOW PRESSURE GAUGES

Although the standard unit permit already to show the digital parameters of pressure of the refrigeration circuit, this option allow the analogic measures of the Freon pressures on suction and compression, giving a most easy way to check the work parameters from specialists in the field. The two liquid pressure gauges and corresponding pressure sockets are installed on the unit in an easily accessible location.

AMRX - RUBBER ANTIVIBRATION MOUNTS

The rubber anti-vibration devices are fastened in housings on the longitudinal members.  They reduce the vibrations caused by the unit, reducing the noises transmitted by the support structures. These elastic bodies soften axial and tangential stresses. Their mechanical and physical characteristics remain nearly unchanged over time thanks to the highly resistant material they are made of. As an alternative to the rubber anti-vibration devices, it is possible to use neoprene rubberized strips on the longitudinal support members. As an alternative to the rubber anti-vibration devices, it is possible to use neoprene rubberized strips on the longitudinal support members (not supplied by Clivet).
