EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
TITLEA study on Employee Motivation among non-managerial employees at
Paragon Steels (P) Ltd, Kanjikode
SCOPE OF THE STUDY
This study is conducted at Paragon steels kanjikode.The scope of the study
includes evaluation of motivational level of non-managerial employee
regarding labour welfare activities implemented by the company. This study
helps the management to identify the motivational factors that affect the non-
managerial employees in the organization. This study helps to know about the
satisfaction level of workers towards the job.
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDYThe objectives of the study are:-
Primary Objective
To study the level of Employee Motivation among non-managerial
employees at Paragon Steels, Kanjikode.
Secondary Objectives
To identify the motivational factors which will improves the performancelevel of employees.
To give suggestions for improving the performance.
To ascertain the level of employees satisfaction.

Research Design : Descriptive research
Population : The population of the study is around 230 non-
managerial employees of Paragon steels
Sample Design : Convenience sampling
Sample Unit : Employees of Paragon steels, Kanjikode
Sample Size : 60 employees (non-managerial)
Data Collection : Primary data collected by means of questionnaire
Secondary data collected from books, websites
and company records
Tools of data analysis : Toolsfor data analysis are percentage method, bar
diagram, pie-diagram
Period of study : The period of study is 15 days (22-08-2011 to 05-
09-2011).
LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY
There may be personal bias of the respondent, which affects the result of
the study.
The views and the preference of the people changes from time to time,
hence the result of the project may not be applicable in the long run. There may be systematic bias involved in study.

MAJOR FINDINGS
94% of employees are satisfied with the support from HR department
85% of employees are satisfied with the incentives provided by the
organization
The study reveals that most of employees (70%) agree to the fact thatsupport from the co-workers is helpful to get motivated.
84% of employees agree that performance appraisal activities are helpful
to get motivated.
84% of employees agree that the company recognizes and acknowledge
the work done by the employees
MAJOR SUGGESTIONS
Most of the employees agree that the performance appraisal activities are
helpful to get motivated, so the company should try to improve
performance appraisal system by providing feedback and suggestions to
employees, so that they can improve their performance.
The organization may give equal importance for both financial and non-
financial incentives, as it proves to be a major motivating factor.
