DESCRIPTION The Pressure Reducing and Check Valve provides constant downstream pressure regardless of a changing flow rate or varying inlet pressure, and prevents return flow when pressure reverses. This valve is hydraulically operated, single seated and controlled by a direct acting spring loaded, diaphragm pilot valve and auxiliary check valves. The pilot valve is extremely sensitive to changing downstream pressures and reacts to modulate the main valve to hold the downstream pressure accurately at the set point. If the pressure reverses, the valve closes tight. Setting the desired pressure to be maintained downstream is easily performed through the single adjusting screw in the spring cage of the pilot valve.

OPERATION The mechanical probe and purge valve is used to prevent damage due to overheating of the system fluid. An increase in temperature above 140 deg F. opens the valve for purge to drain. (Drain piping by others). Purging the heated water introduces lower temperature water into the pump casing which closes the valve. DESCRIPTION Each sensor is a 100% solid-state AC switch which turns on when the current level passing through the current transformer exceeds the value set on the adjustable potentiometer. MECHANICAL INSTALLATION Installation and wiring of the flow sensor to the control is by others in the field. The accuracy of flow measurement for all flow measuring devices is highly dependent on proper location of the sensor in the piping system. Irregular flow velocity profiles caused by valves, fittings, pipe bends, etc. can lead to inaccurate overall flow rate indications even though local flow velocity measurement may be accurate. A sensor located in the pipe where it can be affected by air bubbles, floating debris, or sediment may not achieve full accuracy and could be damaged. Fluidyne flow sensors are designed to operate reliably under adverse conditions, but the following recommendation should be followed to ensure maximum accuracy. Choose a location along the pipe where 10 pipe diameters upstream and 5 pipe diameters downstream of the sensor provide no flow disturbance. Pipe bends, valves, other fittings, pipe enlargements and reductions should not be present in this length of pipe. Optional: Hot Tap Installation

Sheet metal enclosures intended for indoor use. Primary purpose is to prevent accidental personnel contact with enclosed equipment, although they will also provide some protection against falling dirt.

NEMA 12 - Industrial Use – Dust Tight & Drip Tight – Indoor Protect enclosed equipment from lint, fibers, dust, dirt and light splashing, seepage, dripping and external condensation of non-corrosive liquids.
NEMA 13 - Oil Tight & Dust Tight – Indoor Protect enclosed equipment from lint, dust and seepage, external condensation and spraying of water, oil, or coolant. They have oil-resistant gaskets and must have provision for oil tight conduit entry.
