Nov. 17 th -End of trimester 1 Nov. 17 th -Free Dress Day Nov. 20-25 th -Happy Thanksgiving! Reading- The students are learning how to decide what is the main idea in an informational text and/or passage. We are using highlighters and reading nonfiction text to become better readers. In addition, the students are learning about some of the parts of a text. For example, diagrams, a text box, bold print, italics and photographs. Writing- We have been learning how to write a narrative and an informational paragraph. The students are including a hook, an introduction, 3-5 key details and a conclusion in their writing. This is difficult for the students at first, but we practice it so much, that they become very good by the end of the school year. Math- We have been working on place value.
