2. 2. Brothers and Sisters: Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with which you were sealed for the day of redemption. All bitterness, fury, anger, shouting, and reviling must be removed from you, along with all malice. And be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another as God has forgiven you in Christ. So be imitators of God, as beloved children, and live in love, as Christ loved us and handed himself over for us as a sacrificial offering to God for a fragrant aroma.
3. 3. As Christians we belong to the one body of Christ, the Church. Because we belong to the one body we need to care for it as we do with our own biological body. If we use cigarettes we can expect to have respiratory problems as a result of cigarette use. If we take vitamins we can expect to live a healthier life than if we didnt use them. The Church the Body of Christ needs the same treatment. We need to avoid bitterness, fury, anger, shouting, reviling and malice which gives Satan the opportunity to divide Church unity. We need to practice the virtues of compassion and forgiveness in the same manner as practiced by Christ. He even forgave those who took his human life, can we be less forgiving?
