1643 omas Jenner –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– omas Jenner acquired the thirty-seven English county mileage table plates engraved by Jacob van Langeren (see 1635a). He then erased the original thumbnail maps and engraved new ones in their place. ey were copied from the general map of England in John Speed’s eatre. ese uncommon new maps are on twice the scale of the original ones and more detailed: Doreen M. Green Barke Shire wth some confining Townes; Bedford Shire; Bishoprick of Durham; Buckingham Shire; Cambridgeshire wth some confinig Townes; Cornewall; Cheshire; Cûberland; Darbyshire; Deuonshire; Dorsetshire; Essex; Gloucester shire wth some confining Townes; Hartforde shire wth some cõfining Towns; Hamshire; Hereford shire wth some confining Townes; Huntingdon shire; Kent; Lancashire wth some confining Townes; Leicester & Rutland wth some confining Townes; Lincoln shire; Middlesex wth some confinig Townes; Northãptõ shire wth some confining Towns; Nottinghã:shire; Northumberland; Norfolke; Oxford shire wth some confining Townes; Somerset; Shropshire wth some confining Towns; Stafford shire; Sussex; Surrey; Suffolke wth some confining Townes; Warwick shire wth some Confining Towns; Worcester shire; Westmerland; Wiltshire. Leicestershire and Rutland are still on one plate and Yorkshire is still one of the larger ones. From 1668 all the plates have been retouched. ey were also printed on larger pages with text below and on the back, in the Book of names....
