The 9th Annual Talent Competitions 2019-20 will be held from 21.10.2019 (Monday) to

25.10.2019 (Friday).

* 21.10.2019 (Monday) - Elocution English (or) II Language (Compulsory for all)

* 22.10. 2019 (Tuesday) - Essay Writing English (or) II Language

(Compulsory for all)

* 23.10.2019 (Wednesday) - Category – A [any one compulsory]

* 24.10.2019 (Thursday) - Walk the Ramp [Fancy dress [Optional]]

* 25.10.2019 (Friday) - Category – B [any one compulsory]

* Last date for enrolling the names for the selected categories of Talent Competitions is

I. The following are the topics for Elocution and Essay Writing competition: ELOCUTION

ESSAY WRITING

NOTE: * Each and every student must participate in both Elocution and Essay Writing. * If the speech is delivered in Tamil then the essay must be written in English and Vice Versa. II. Following competitions will be held on 23.10.2019 (Wednesday) and 25.10.2019 (Friday). Students can

participate in any two events of their choice selecting one from each category. Students should bring the

materials.

INSTRUCTIONS for 9th ANNUAL TALENT COMPETITIONS

1. Drawing and Painting:

1. Base should not have readymade outline.

2. Drawing – Pencil colour, crayon, sketch or any form of colouring is allowed. Painting: Non toxic paint

should be used.

3. A4 size chart should be used.

4. Time Duration – 1 hour.

2. Rangoli / Flower Arrangement.

1. More than one colour powder / flowers can be used.

2. Size and design can vary but should not be smaller than 4 square feet.

3. Can use prop to decorate. (eg. lamps, pots)

4. Time Duration – 1 hour.

3. Singing:

1. Only patriotic or devotional songs can be sung.

2. First line and only one stanza should be sung.

3. Can also use musical instruments (eg. Piano, Guitar etc.)

4. Radio Jockey / Video Jockey:

1. Should talk non stop at least for 2 minutes.

2. Assume presenting a show

5. Quilling:

1. Combination of different colours can be used.

2. Only designs should be made. Jewellery should not be made under this category.

3. Can use decorative items to enhance presentation.

4. Time Duration – 1 hour.

6. Glass / Fabric / Pot painting:

1. Base should not contain any outlines.

2. Can be theme based.

3. Maximum colour combination can be used to enhance the presentation.

4. Time Duration – 1 hour.

7. Wealth Out of Waste:

1. Any form of waste material can be used like ice cream sticks or spoons, foam plates, broken bangles,

old cds, plastic bottles etc.,

2. Can also make more than one item.

3. Presentation should be clear and neat.

4. Time Duration – 1 hour.

8. Vegetable Carving:

1. Vegetables should not be readymade carved.

2. Should handle knife or blade under the guidance of the teacher.

3. More than one model can be made.

4. Time Duration – 1 hour.

9. Jewel Making:

1. Any type of jewel can be made (eg. Beads, Feathers, Quilling)

2. Making should be neat and complete.

3. Should be able to use the jewel.

4. Time Duration – 1 hour.

10. Collage Making:

1. Quarter of a chart can be used as the base.

2. Magazine bits, Newspaper bits, bits of colour papers or hand papers can be glued to the chart canvas.

3. Multiple colours can be used for better presentation.

4. Time Duration – 1 hour.

11. Mehandi Design:

1. Any theme can be selected.

2. Non toxic fresh Mehandi should be used.

3. Design should cover full palm & five fingers.

4. Time Duration – 1 hour.

12. Stand up Comedy:

1. Should crack jokes and talk with humorous punch to make audience laugh.

2. Only 2 minutes.

3. No offensive language or gesture should be used to make audience laugh.

13. ABCD: (Any Body Can Dance)

1. Should be a Solo performance.

2. Costume should be according to the song theme.

3. Cine Songs with offence language is strictly prohibited.

4. Only 2 minutes.

14. Elocution:

1. Parameters: Voice Modulation, Body Language, Content, Confidence, Pronunciation.

2. Should start with an introduction.

3. Only 2 minutes.

15. Essay Writing: Extempore

1. Parameters: Handwriting, Presentation, Content Quality. Avoid over writing and strike out.

2. Should carry at least 100 words.

3. Can give title and subtitles.

16. Walk the Ramp:

1. Student should dress up and enact according to the role selected.

2. Character roles should be enacted thoroughly with mimicking the voice and style of the person /

famous personality.

3. On the stage dialogue should not exceed more than 5 lines.

4. Parameters: Confidence, Body Language, Intonation, Costume, Presentation & Preparation.
