1- Islam calls for Mercy

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As: The Prophet (PBUH) said: The

Compassionate One has mercy on those who are merciful. If you show

mercy to those who are on the earth, He Who is in the heaven will show

mercy to you. Musaddad did not say: The client of 'Adb Allah b. 'Amr.

He said: The Prophet (PBUH) said. Sunan Abi Dawud 4941, Book 43,

Hadith 169 Sahih (Al-Albani)

(Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of

religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous

toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who

act justly) Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 60:8

a- Mercy of Allah (God Almighty)

When we read any part of the Quran we must start with this verse (“In the

name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful”), this is

Called “Basmalah” in Arabic, Allah (God) chosen Mercy among countless

adjectives for him to reminds us every time we read Quran and every time

we pray -5 times daily- that he is Merciful and we should worship him only

and repent always, he teaches us that mercy is the core.

([All] praise is [due] to Allah , Lord of the worlds - The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful) Sahih International translation,

Noble Quran 1:2-3

(And your Lord is the Forgiving, full of mercy. If He were to impose

blame upon them for what they earned, He would have hastened for them

the punishment. Rather, for them is an appointment from which they will never find an escape.) Sahih International translation, Noble Quran

18:58

b- Mercy & generalization of Prophet Muhammad Message

(And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the

worlds). Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 21:107

(So by mercy from Allah, [O Muhammad], you were lenient with them. And if you had been rude [in speech] and harsh in heart, they would have

disbanded from about you. So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them and consult them in the matter. And when you have decided, then rely upon

Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those who rely [upon Him]) Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 3:159

c- Nobel Quran is Mercy and guidance

(And We have not revealed to you the Book (Quran), [O Muhammad],

except for you to make clear to them that wherein they have differed and as guidance and mercy for a people who believe) Sahih International

translation, Noble Quran 16:64

(Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by

sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all

sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful) Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 39:53

2- Islam Calls for Dealing with Non Muslims in the Best Way.

a- How to deal with Non Muslims?

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: Beware, if anyone wrongs a

contracting man, or diminishes his right, or forces him to work beyond

his capacity, or takes from him anything without his consent, I shall

plead for him on the Day of Judgment. Sunan Abi Dawud 3052, Book 20,

Hadith 125, Sahih (Al-Albani)

b- How to invite others for Islam?

(Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue

with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who

has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly]

guided) Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 16:125

(And do not argue with the People of the Scripture (Christians & Jews)

except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among

them, and say, "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and

revealed to you. And our God and your God is one; and we are Muslims [in

submission] to Him) Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 29:46

Page 5: 15 Values from the Islamic Values (Do You Know Them?)

Basic Values Page 5

c- Freedom of Belief for Non Muslims.

(There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right

course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut

and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no

break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing) Sahih International

translation, Noble Quran 2:256

(So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder, You are not over

them a controller) Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 88:21-22

3- Islam Calls for liberations of Captives & Slaves and treating

them very well:

(And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, [Saying], "We feed you only for the countenance of Allah . We

wish not from you reward or gratitude.) Sahih International Translation, Noble Quran 7: 31-32

Zadhan Abl Umar reported: I came to Ibn 'Umar as he had granted freedom

to a slave. He (the narrator further) said: He took hold of a wood or

something like it from the earth and said: It (freedom of a slave) has not the reward evert equal to it, but the fact that I heard Allah's Messenger (way peace be upon him) say: He who slaps his slave or beats him, the

expiation for it is that he should set him free . Sahih Muslim 1657, Book 27, Hadith 46

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (PBUH) so many ahadith and one

of them is this that Allah's Messenger (PBUH) said: None of you should say:

Supply drink to your lord, feed your lord, help your lord in performing ablution, and none of you should say: My Lord. He should say: My chief,

my patron; and none of you should say: My bondman, my slave-girl, but simply say: My boy, my girl, my servant. Sahih Muslim 2249 Book 40, Hadith 16 (“office boy” was taught by the prophet 1400 years ago)

Narrated Al-Ma'rur: At Ar-Rabadha I met Abu Dhar who was wearing a

cloak, and his slave, too, was wearing a similar one. I asked about the reason for it. He replied, "I abused a person by calling his mother with bad names."

The Prophet said to me, 'O Abu Dhar! Did you abuse him by calling his mother with bad names You still have some characteristics of ignorance.

Your slaves are your brothers and Allah has put them under your command. So whoever has a brother under his command should feed

him of what he eats and dress him of what he wears. Do not ask them (slaves) to do things beyond their capacity (power) and if you do so, then

help them.' Sahih al-Bukhari 30, Book 2, Hadith 23

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) sets free Lady Juwayriyyah who was in

captivity and marry her and companions of the prophet sets free all her

tribe (around 100 men)

Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin: Juwayriyyah, daughter of al-Harith

ibn al-Mustaliq, fell to the lot of Thabit ibn Qays ibn Shammas, or to her cousin. She entered into an agreement to purchase her freedom. She was a

very beautiful woman, most attractive to the eye. Aisha said: She then came to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) asking him for the purchase of her

freedom. When she was standing at the door, I looked at her with disapproval. I realised that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) would look at

her in the same way that I had looked. She said: Messenger of Allah, I am Juwayriyyah, daughter of al-Harith, and something has happened to me,

which is not hidden from you. I have fallen to the lot of Thabit ibn Qays ibn Shammas, and I have entered into an agreement to purchase of my freedom. I have come to you to seek assistance for the purchase of my

freedom. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: Are you inclined to that which is better? She asked: What is that, Messenger of Allah? He replied:

I shall pay the price of your freedom on your behalf, and I shall marry you. She said: I shall do this. She (Aisha) said: The people then heard that

the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) had married Juwayriyyah. They released the captives in their possession and set them free , and said: They

are the relatives of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) by marriage. We did not see any woman greater than Juwayriyyah who brought blessings to her

people. One hundred families of Banu al-Mustaliq were set free on account of her. Abu dawud said: This evidence shows that a Muslim ruler

may marry a slave woman himself. Sunan Abi Dawud 3931, Book 31, Hadith 6, Hassan (Al-Albani)

Delicate Gentleman Treatment of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) with

Lady Safiyyah daughter of Huyayy (was in captivity) and honoring her by

marring him and be one of the mothers of all Muslims:

(Narrated Anas bin Malik: We arrived at Khaibar……Then we proceeded

towards Medina, and I saw the Prophet, making for her a kind of cushion with his cloak behind him (on his camel). He then sat beside his camel and

put his knee for Safiya to put her foot on, in order to ride (on the camel). Sahih al-Bukhari 4211, Book 64, Hadith 251

(The Prophet is more worthy of the believers than themselves, and his wives are [in the position of] their mothers…) Sahih International Translation,

Noble Quran 33:6

Prophet Muhammad Sets example in liberating Slaves:

Narrated 'Amir bin Al-Harith: Allah's Messenger (PBUH) did not leave a

Dinar or a Dirham or a male or a female slave . He left only his white

mule on which he used to ride, and his weapons, and a piece of land which he gave in charity for the needy travelers . Sahih al-Bukhari 4461, Book

64, Hadith 477

(There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent

pattern (exemplary behavior) for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who] remembers Allah often.) Sahih International Translation,

Noble Quran 33:21

4- Islam Calls for Integrity, Keeping Promises, Treaties &

Contracts.

(O you who have believed, fulfill [all] contracts…) Sahih International

translation, Noble Quran 5:1

(…And fulfill [every] commitment. Indeed, the commitment is ever [that

about which one will be] questioned) Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 17:34

Narrated AbuHurayrah: The Prophet (PBUH) said: Pay the deposit to him

who deposited it with you, and do not betray him who betrayed you. Hassan Sahih (Al-Albani)

'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'as (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Four are the qualities which, when

found in a person, make him a sheer hypocrite, and one who possesses one

Page 8: 15 Values from the Islamic Values (Do You Know Them?)

of them, possesses one characteristic of hypocrisy until he abandons it. These are: When he is entrusted with something, he betrays trust; when he

speaks, he lies; when he promises, he acts treacherously; and when he argues, he behaves in a very imprudent, insulting manner." [Al-Bukhari

and Muslim].

5- Islam Fosters Cooperation & Cohesion

houses of the wives of the Prophet (PBUH) to inquire about the worship of

the Prophet (PBUH). When they were informed, they considered their worship insignificant and said: "Where are we in comparison with the

Prophet (PBUH) while Allah has forgiven his past sins and future sins". One of them said: "As for me, I shall offer Salat all night long." Another said: "I

shall observe Saum (fasting) continuously and shall not break it". Another said: "I shall abstain from women and shall never marry". The Prophet

(PBUH) came to them and said, "Are you the people who said such and such things? By Allah, I fear Allah more than you do, and I am most obedient and dutiful among you to Him, but still I observe fast and break it; perform Salat

and sleep at night and take wives. So whoever turns away from my Sunnah does not belong to me".[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Abd Allah b. Mas’ud reported the Prophet (PBUH) as saying: "Beware! The extremists perished," saying it three times. Sunan Abi Dawud 4608, Book

42, Hadith 13 Sahih (Al-Albani) (extremists means those who go beyond moderation)

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Religion is very easy

and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way. So you should not be extremists, but try to be near to perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded; and

gain strength by worshipping in the mornings, the afternoons, and during the last hours of the nights." (See Fath-ul-Bari, Page 102, Vol 1). Sahih al-

Bukhari 39 Book 2, Hadith 32

7- Islam calls for Peace.

(Their call therein will be, "Exalted are You, O Allah ," and their greeting therein will be, "Peace." And the last of their call will be, "Praise to Allah ,

Lord of the worlds!") Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 10:10

(And Allah invites to the Home of Peace and guides whom He wills to a

straight path) Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 10:25

(And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of]

peace,) Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 25:63

(And if they incline to peace, then incline to it [also] and rely upon Allah .

Indeed, it is He who is the Hearing, the Knowing) Sahih International

translation, Noble Quran 8:61

8- Islam calls for the Best Manners, Ethics & Behaviors: 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb reported from his grandfather that the Prophet, may Allah

bless him and grant him peace, said, "Shall I tell you about who among you I love the most and the one who will be seated closest to me on the Day of

Rising?" The people were silent, so he repeated that two or three times. Then the people said, "Yes, Messenger of Allah." He said, "The one among

you with the best character (Manners)" Al-Adab Al-Mufrad Book 14, Hadith 272 Sahih (Al-Albani)

Abu Hurairah narrated that The Messenger of Allah said:“The most complete of the believers in faith, is the one with the best character among

them. And the best of you are those who are best to your women.” Jami at-Tirmidhi 1162, Book 12, Hadith 17 Hassan

(And do not insult those they invoke other than Allah, lest they insult

Allah in enmity without knowledge. Thus We have made pleasing to every

community their deeds. Then to their Lord is their return, and He will inform

them about what they used to do) Sahih International translation, Noble

Quran 6:108

'Abdullah reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him

peace, said, "A believer is neither a defamer nor a curser nor coarse nor

obscene." Sahih (Al-Albani), Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 312, Book 15, Hadith 4

Narrated `Aisha: The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Do not abuse (insult) the

dead, for they have reached the result of what they have done." Sahih al-Bukhari 6516, Book 81, Hadith 105

Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The

Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Do not revile the rooster for it wakes you up for prayer." [Abu Dawud]. Book 18, Hadith 1730

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (PBUH) as saying: Do not revile my Companions, do not revile my Companions. By Him in Whose Hand is

my life, if one amongst you would have spent as much gold as Uhud (mountain in Madinah) it would not amount to as much as one much on

behalf of one of them or half of it. Sahih Muslim 2540, Book 44, Hadith 316

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah(PBUH) said:

Hadith 5

9- Islam calls for Cleanliness: Abu Malik at-Ash'ari reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:

Cleanliness is half of faith and al-Hamdu Liliah (Praise be to Allah) fills

the scale, and Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah) and al-Hamdu Liliah (Praise be to Allah) fill upwhat is between the heavens and the earth, and prayer is a

light, and charity is proof (of one's faith) and endurance is a brightness and the Holy Qur'an is a proof on your behalf or against you. All men go out

early in the morning and sell themselves, thereby setting themselves free or destroying themselves. Sahih Muslim 223, Book 2, Hadith 1

'A'isha reported:The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: Ten are the acts according to fitra (instinct, born with without teaching): clipping the

moustache, letting the beard grow, using the tooth-stick, snuffing water in the nose, cutting the nails, washing the finger joints, plucking the hair under

the armpits, shaving the pubes and cleaning one's private parts with water. The narrator said: I have forgotten the tenth, but it may have been rinsing the

mouth. Sahih Muslim 261, Book 2, Hadith 71

(And your clothing purify) Sahih International translation, Noble Quran

74:4

Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri narrated that: The Messenger of Allah said: "The

best scent is the perfume of musk." Jami at-Tirmidhi 991, Book 10, Hadith 27 Sahih (Darussalam)

10- Islam fosters Optimism

(…Do not think it bad for you; rather it is good for you…) Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 24:11

(Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is Allah " and then remained on a

right course - the angels will descend upon them, [saying], "Do not fear and do not grieve but receive good tidings of Paradise, which you were

promised) Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 41:30

(until [even their] messenger and those who believed with him said, "When

is the help of Allah ?" Unquestionably, the help of Allah is near) Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 2:214

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (PBUH) as saying: A strong

believer is better and is more lovable to Allah than a weak believer, and there is good in everyone, (but) cherish that which gives you benefit (in the

Hereafter) and seek help from Allah and do not lose heart, and if anything

(in the form of trouble) comes to you, don't say: If I had not done that, it would not have happened so and so, but say: Allah did that what He had

ordained to do and your" if" opens the (gate) for the Satan. Sahih Muslim 2664, Book 46, Hadith 52

11- Islam Calls for Science & Knowledge.

(….and say, "My Lord, increase me in knowledge) Sahih International

translation, Noble Quran 20:114

)…Say, "Are those who know equal to those who do not know?"…) Sahih

International translation, Noble Quran 39:9

It is He who has sent among the unlettered a Messenger from

themselves reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching

them the Book and wisdom - although they were before in clear error - Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 62:2

He gives wisdom to whom He wills, and whoever has been given wisdom has certainly been given much good. And none will remember except

those of understanding Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 2:269

Abud-Darda (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of

Allah (PBUH) said, "He who follows a path in quest of knowledge, Allah will make the path of Jannah easy to him. The angels lower their wings

over the seeker of knowledge, being pleased with what he does. The inhabitants of the heavens and the earth and even the fish in the depth of the

oceans seek forgiveness for him. The superiority of the learned man over the devout worshipper is like that of the full moon to the rest of the stars (i.e., in brightness). The learned are the heirs of the Prophets who

bequeath neither dinar nor dirham but only that of knowledge; and he who acquires it, has in fact acquired an abundant portion." [Abu Dawud and At-

Tirmidhi].

Page 13: 15 Values from the Islamic Values (Do You Know Them?)

12- Islam Calls for Contemplation.

(Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of

the night and the day are signs for those of understanding. Who remember Allah while standing or sitting or [lying] on their sides and give thought to

the creation of the heavens and the earth, [saying], "Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You [above such a thing]; then protect

us from the punishment of the Fire.) Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 3:190-191

(So have they not traveled through the earth and have hearts by which to

reason and ears by which to hear?....) Sahih International translation,

Noble Quran 22:46.

(Have they not considered how Allah begins creation and then repeats it?

Indeed that, for Allah , is easy. Say, [O Muhammad], "Travel through the land and observe how He began creation. Then Allah will produce the

final creation. Indeed Allah , over all things, is competent.") Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 29:19-20.

(So observe the effects of the mercy of Allah - how He gives life to the earth

after its lifelessness. Indeed, that [same one] will give life to the dead, and He is over all things competent) Sahih International translation, Noble

Quran 30:50.

(And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] And in yourselves. Then

will you not see?) Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 20:21.

(So let man observe from what he was created. He was created from a fluid,

ejected, Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs) Sahih

International translation, Noble Quran 86:5-7.

(Then do they not reflect (read & think) upon the Qur'an, or are there locks

upon [their] hearts?) Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 47:24.

13- Islam Calls for Work.

(And say, "Do [as you will], for Allah will see your deeds, and [so, will]

His Messenger and the believers. And you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you of what you used to

do) Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 9:105.

Narrated Al-Miqdam: The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Nobody has ever eaten a

better meal than that which one has earned by working with one's own hands. The Prophet (PBUH) of Allah, David (PBUH) used to eat from the

earnings of his manual labor." Sahih al-Bukhari 2072, Book 34, Hadith 25

14- Islam Calls for Land Planting & construction, enjoying

the good allowed adornment while remembering to give due

thanks & prayers to God.

(you who have believed, eat from the good things which We have

provided for you and be grateful to Allah if it is [indeed] Him that you

worship. Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 2:172.

(It is He who made the earth tame for you - so walk among its slopes and

eat of His provision - and to Him is the resurrection) Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 67:15.

(Children of Adam, take your adornment at every Masjid (PBUH), and eat

and drink, but be not excessive. Indeed, He likes not those who commit excess. Say, "Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has produced for His servants and the good [lawful] things of provision?" Say,

"They are for those who believe during the worldly life [but] exclusively for them on the Day of Resurrection." Thus do We detail the verses for a people

who know) Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 7:31-32.

Nafi' ibn 'Abdu'l-Harith reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and

grant him peace, said, "Part of the happiness of the Muslim man includes a

spacious dwelling, righteous neighbor and a good mount" Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 116, Book 6, Hadith 16 Sahih (li ghairih) (Al-Albani)

Anas ibn Malik reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "If the Final Hour comes while you have a palm-cutting in

your hands and it is possible to plant it before the Hour comes, you should plant it. Al-Adab Al-Mufrad Book 27, Hadith 479 Sahih (Al-Albani)

15- People are equal before Allah (God Almighty) in Islam:

(Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them

their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do.) Sahih International translation, Noble Quran 16:97

(Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (PBUH) as saying: Verily Allah

does not look to your faces and your wealth but He looks to your heart and to your deeds.) Sahih Muslim 2564, Book 45, Hadith 42
