A. Update P.1 English Curriculum* - Teachers will get reference from the UK National Curriculum and adopt a new curriculum in our school.

Sept 15 – June 16

Students will be asked to do a previous assessment after the first term. Average of the students should score higher than the previous in the same assessment paper.

-Assessment scores -Teachers’ observation

-The P.1 students did the GE paper from the previous year. The result shows that the average scores were quite similar comparing to the previous year. Most teachers agree that this curriculum can have a great benefit to the students who have very good English. However, some additional support should be given to all the weaker students.

Next year, we are going to have a writing booklet with the sentence starters and suggested vocabulary words that are related to the text type. So, more support should be provided to the students. In addition, we are going to set up big brother and big sister program, so the students would go down to the P.1 classrooms to read to the students starting in September. Also, we are going to make good use of the two teachers in class, like splitting the class into two groups, so one teacher can take out the weaker ones and have small group teaching even in non-rotation lessons.

Details of expenditure for large-scale capital works, if any:

The accumulated surplus will be continuous consumed for renovation in coming years,

and it will be applied to upgrade the teaching and learning equipment/environment.

1 The % of expenditure on fee remission/scholarship is calculated on the basis of the annual overall expenditure of the school. This % is

different from that of the fee remission/scholarship provision calculated on the basis of the school fee income as required by the Education

Bureau, which must be no less than 10%.

It is confirmed that our school has set aside sufficient provision for the fee remission / scholarship scheme according to Education Bureau’s

requirements (Put a “” where appropriate).
