Pam Beitlich, DNP, ARNP, has been a nurse leader for over 30 years and currently works full-time as a nursing administrator for a large healthcare organization. Additionally, she has worked part-time for the Studer Group since 2000, speaking several days/month, working with other organizations in striving to achieve consistently excellent outcomes. Her comprehensive hospital background, from a former ER and critical care nurse to a nursing administrator with many different roles, gives Pam an immediate “in” with any healthcare group interested in creating positive change. Transformational leadership is an area of expertise she is especially passionate about. She strongly believes the healthcare leaders of today must have expert communication skills to build interprofessional relationships, and be open to feedback to continually improve. Pam is driven by assisting the next generation of nurse leaders to reach their potential and push outcomes in staff engagement, accountability and patient safety. Regina Holliday is a Maryland-based patient advocate and artist known for painting a series of murals depicting the need for clarity and transparency in medical records. This advocacy mission was inspired by her husband, Frederick Allen Holliday II, and his struggle to get appropriate care during 11 weeks of continuous hospitalization in five facilities. After his death from kidney cancer on June 17, 2009, she began “73 Cents,” a mural depicting her husband dying in darkness surrounded by inaccessible technological tools in a closed data loop. The title refers to the cost per page for medical records in the state of Maryland. Backed by her own patient and caregiving experiences, she travels the globe heralding her message of patient empowerment and inclusion in healthcare decision making. She fearlessly stands before officials and practitioners demanding a thoughtful dialog on the role patients play in their own healthcare. Nurses and health facility administrators will receive up to 6.0 contact hours with conference registration, check-in at registration desk, completion of program session, submission of Attendance Confirmation Form and completed program evaluation. University of Southern Indiana College of Nursing and Health Professions is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
