REGULATIONSGENERAL CONDITIONS

1. ENTRY FORMS should be completed in BLOCK CAPITALS and lodged with the Secretaryas early as possible and NO LATER THAN the date entries close.

2. ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE DATES SHOWN ON THE FORM &INSIDE FRONT COVER OF THE SCHEDULE, TELEPHONE, FAX AND E-MAIL ENTRIESWILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. NO REMINDERSWILL BE GIVEN.

3. ADDITIONAL ENTRY FORMS. Please telephone the office requesting additional form(s), assoon as possible, or photocopy your original form. Do you put more than one exhibitor on aform.

4. IN CLASSES FOR GROUPS AND PAIRS the Name and Pedigree of Animal or Animals doesnot require to be given. Simply give the name and address of the Exhibitor and the ClassNumber.

5. PAYMENT. All entries must be accompanied by the correct amount, including membershipsubscription, where applicable, cheques or postal order made payable to AYRSHIREAGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATION. No entry will be deemed to be accepted until all entrymonies have been paid.

6. RIGHT RESERVED TO REFUSE ENTRIES. The Show Committee reserve to themselvesthe right of refusing, cancelling or prohibiting the exhibition of Entries from any person whohas been expelled from the Membership of any Agricultural or Dairy Society or who may havebeen prohibited, suspended or disqualified from making entries or exhibiting at the Show orShows of any Agricultural or Dairy Society, or Breed Society in consequence of havingattempted to obtain a prize by giving a false Certificate or by unfair means, or who is underexclusion from any Breed Society for fraudulent practices. The Show Committee furtherreserve to themselves the right of refusing any other entries they may think fit to exclude, orto cancel any entry made, or to prohibit the exhibition of any entry.

7. WITHDRAWAL OF ENTRIES should be intimated to the Secretary two weeks before theShow. No refund of Entry Fees will be made for cancellations received after this date.(Dairy Cattle not included).

8. ALL SECTIONS. Sections may be cancelled or amalgamated at stewards discretion if lessthan 3 exhibitors and 9 animals in total.

9. THE AYRSHIRE AGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATION IS NOT LIABLE FOR LOSS ORDAMAGE pertaining to or connected with any exhibitor or exhibit sustained at the Show or intransit. Neither will The Association be accountable for any accident that may occur to anyperson attending the Show whether as a visitor, exhibitor or otherwise.

10. STOCK SUBJECTTO ORDER OF OFFICIALS. Stock entered for Competition, and actuallyin the Show, is subject to the Control and under the orders of the Show Committee, Stewards,Secretary and other Show Officials, and such Stock may not be withdrawn from competitionor from parade without the consent of the Committee or Secretary.

11. PERSONS INTERFERINGWITH JUDGES ETC. Persons making insulting remarks to, or inany way unduly interfering with the Judges, Stewards or other Officials while in theperformance of their duties, and all Exhibitors and others in charge of Stock while in theJudging Rings, refusing to accept or display Tickets, Rosettes, etc awarded by the Judgesand handed to them by the Stewards or other Officials, or tearing up Tickets, Rosettes, etcso awarded or handed to them, or acting in any similar manner shall be considered guilty ofmisconduct, and shall be dealt with under these Rules.

12. EXHIBITORS ANSWERABLE FOR CONDUCT OF EMPLOYEES, ETC. All persons incharge of Stock or other exhibits, and all persons admitted into the Showyard, shall besubject to the Rules of Ayrshire Agricultural Association and shall obey the orders of theSecretary, Stewards and other Officials of the Association. Exhibitors shall be answerable forthe conduct of their employees or representatives.

13. POWER TO ENFORCE REGULATIONS. The Stewards and other Officials have power toenforce the Regulations of The Association in their different departments.

14. PROTESTS. A protest, having reference to Exhibits at the Show, may be lodged by anyperson having interest. Said objections, however, must be lodged in writing with theSecretary within seven days of the close of the Show, and must state specifically the groundsof objection, and must be accompanied by a deposit of £5 - except in cases where theobjection is laid by the Show Committee in which case the objections may be made at anytime and a deposit shall not be necessary - and which deposit shall, if the objection be provedfrivolous to the satisfaction of the Directors, be forfeited. Said protest will be heard anddetermined by the Directors.

15. THE VIOLATION OF ANY OFTHE REGULATIONS, or disobedience of the Directors, ShowCommittee, Secretary, Stewards, or other Officials of The Association, shall render theoffending person liable to forfeiture of all premiums awarded to him or of such a portion asthe Directors may ordain, and also liable to be expelled from the Membership of TheAssociation, and disqualified from again, or for a certain number of years, exhibiting at theShows of The Association, or to have his case disposed of by fines or otherwise as theDirectors may determine.

16. THE DECISION OF THE DIRECTORS SHALL BE FINAL in the case of protests made invirtue of Regulation 15 hereof, and in every other matter arising at or in connection with theShow, be final, and every person present at the Show, whether as a Judge, Exhibitor, Visitoror otherwise, shall be deemed thereby to have agreed to refer the subject matter of suchdecision to the final determination of the Directors, to the exclusion of all Courts of Law.

17. DECISIONS MAY BE COMMUNICATED TO OUR SOCIETIES. All decisions under theseRules may, along with the names and addresses of the persons against whom suchdecisions have been pronounced, be communicated by the Secretary of this Association tothe Secretaries of all Agricultural or Dairy Societies holding open Shows in the UnitedKingdom, and to the Secretaries of all Breed Societies in the United Kingdom, and may bepublished in the Annual Reports of this Association and in such newspapers or journals asthe Directors may determine, and every Exhibitor competing at the Show, and every personpresent at the Show, whether as a Director, Member of Committee, Steward, Judge,Exhibitor, Visitor or otherwise, shall be deemed thereby to have consented to suchcommunication and publications.

18. NO SHEETS shall be erected in front of the Cattle between 8 am and the close of the Show.

19. REMOVAL OF STOCK. Exhibitors of Stock will not be permitted to remove their exhibitsfrom the Showground between the commencement of the Show and the time fixed of6.00 pm for removal of exhibits on the Saturday afternoon or following LivestockParade, except on production of a certificate from the official Veterinary Surgeons.Exhibitors contravening this rule will be liable to forfeit all prize money awarded.

20. THE HOLSTEIN SECTION is restricted to Animals registered with the HFS Herd Book properor the Holstein Herd Book, or Classes B or C of the Supplementary Register.

21. ONLY ONE STALL. When an Animal is to compete in two Classes it must be entered in both,but the Secretary must be informed when an animal is thus entered twice, so that only onerunning number may be given and one stall erected.

22. COWS AND HEIFERS SHOWN IN CALF in Classes 1 and 4 must be due to calve not laterthan 1st July.

23. CATTLE BYRES. The storage of feeding stuffs, boxes, etc in the passages is strictlyprohibited. Smoking within the cattle byres is prohibited. The cooking of meals within thebyres is also prohibited.

24. CALCULATION OF AGE. Where age is not otherwise regulated, it is calculated from 1stJanuary of each year in which the Animal was produced.

25. STOCK MUST BE THE BONA-FIDE PROPERTY OF THE EXHIBITOR. Except whereotherwise provided Stock may be purchased up to the last date of entry, but must be thebona-fide property of the Exhibitor in whose name it is entered, and must have been in hispossession from last day of entry to date of Show, and in case of Sale, delivery must havebeen given and the price paid.

26. OWNERS OF CATTLE AND HORSES MAY LEAD THEIR OWN STOCK into the JudgingRing with each lot exhibited. In the case of Clydesdale Horses, there has to be one handlerand one groom only in the judging ring at any time. In the case of Sheep, only one personis allowed to enter the Judging Ring with each lot exhibited. Stock must be led by aresponsible, experienced person.

27. BEEF CATTLE BREEDS. The use of a `humbug' is mandatory for all Breeds of Cattle.

28. SECURING OF ANIMALS. Bulls must be secured by a ring in the Nose, with a Rope orChain attached. All Cattle must be securely tied in the Stalls, and in the case of Horses, oneperson must be in constant attendance on each Animal.

29. EXHIBITORS SHALL BE ANSWERABLE for all acts, whether committed by themselves,their employees, or others in charge of their Stock; and shall be responsible for their Animalsduring the whole time they remain in the Showyard. Except when being taken to the JudgingRing, no Animal may be unstalled without the sanction of a Steward.

30. ALL LIVESTOCK MUST BE PARADED at the times stated in the Programmes of the Showand when required by the Stewards and under their direction. Attendants must be besidetheir Animals twenty minutes before the hour of Parade, and be ready to proceed to the Ringimmediately on receiving the orders of the Steward. Stock must be led by a responsible,experienced person.

31. DOCTORING OF ANY ANIMALS AT THE SHOW. The Association's Veterinary Surgeon orsurgeons will examine and report as to any "doctoring" of exhibits for the Show. They areempowered to examine the report on any Animals which have been blistered or punctured,which have or have had teats set, inflated or sealed or which have had soap or otheradhesive matter applied to them, and, generally Animals which have been altered inappearance in order to mislead the Judges. Their attention is specially directed to any casein which water or other liquid has been poured into Cattle, to what is known as “gingering"Horses, and to any other practice which causes pain. They may inspect and examine anyAnimal as soon as it enters the Showground and as long as it may remain there. On their,or his, representation that improper practices on any animal have been resorted to, theanimal shall be disqualified from competing for prizes, and the Stewards shall cause it to beremoved or prevented from entering the "Show Judging Ring and the offending Exhibitor maybe otherwise dealt with as the Directors may consider appropriate.

32. IN CASES OF AWARDS TO COWS OR HEIFERS IN CALF, MARES IN FOAL, EWES INLAMB, the Premiums may be withheld until a Certificate of Produce by a competentVeterinary Surgeon has been produced. Premiums will not be paid should deception havebeen attempted upon the Judges.

33. FULL PARTICULARS MUST BE GIVEN ON ENTRY FORM. All particulars as to name,pedigree, registration number etc required in the Entry Form must be filled in. Whenpedigree, etc is unknown, this must be stated on the Entry Form.

34. JUDGES. The Committee reserve the right to appoint Judges in place of any who may notbe able to attend, or to appoint additional Judges, or to cancel or make alterations to thepublished list. Judges are not eligible to judge Bred Stock and must inform their ChiefSteward who shall in turn be required to appoint an alternative judge.

35. GROUPS OR PAIRS. BEEF INTERBREED GROUP OF 3. Entries may be made in Groupof 3 on Saturday. Pairs must be entered on entry form and appropriate fees paid.

36. DAIRY SUBSTITUTION. Between closing date of entries and day of Show, an Exhibitor whohas made an entry in the DAIRY Cattle Section will be permitted to substitute for it an entryof another Animal in the same class.

FREE PASSES

Members and Life MembersEvery Life Member of The Association and other Members paying an Annual Subscription of notless than £12.00 shall receive a Member's Ticket admitting them to the Showground. Thesubscription for the current year must have been paid prior to the Show.

ExhibitorsEach Exhibitor will be issued with a wristband, (for personal use only) entitling entry to theShowground.

Leaders of StockLeaders, bona-fide, attending on Stock, are admitted free to the Showground WITH THEIRSTOCK on display of the appropriate Vehicle Pass and Wristband. The number of ExhibitorWristbands allotted to each Exhibitor will be at the discretion of the Association. Attendantsarriving at the Show separately will be liable to admission charges.

Passes Not TransferablePasses are not transferable, and anyone found making an improper use of same will be reportedto the Directors. The Stewards are empowered in their respective Sections to check improperuse of Free Passes.

HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY

Standards and Rules form part of the Exhibitor Entry Formand a condition of Entry will be an acceptance of these rules and regulations

1. A Safety Advisor has been appointed to ensure the safety of the event and theimplementation of the Safety Policy.

2. Extra stewards are appointed to ensure all safety precautions are complied with and theChief Steward in each Section will be in charge of their own Section.

3. Animals being moved through the event area will be separated from the public by roped offwalkways and the movement of animals to judging rings will be organised to create as littlestress as possible.

4. Bull(s) should be secured by rings or screws. All animals must be securely tied with a halterand a neck rope.

5. The use of a ’Humbug’ is mandatory for all beef animals over age of 6 months.

6. Animals which are excited or aggressive should not be paraded and may require to bewithdrawn from the event.

7. Children should not be allowed to handle bulls or fractious animals. In the Juvenile classesan adult should always be in attendance to take over if a child is having difficulty in controllingan animal.

8. Dogs should be kept on the lead at all times.

9. Any plant, machinery or equipment used prior to, or after the Show should only be operatedby an adult who is fully trained in its safe use. Children must not be allowed to ride on oroperate machinery including All Terrain Vehicles.

10. Pedestrian access routes from Car Parks will be clearly signposted.

11. Exhibitors, trade stands, caterers, retailers etc using LPG Gas must comply with HSEregulations in respect of storage and use of any containers that they may bring.

12. First Aid facilities will be provided on the day of the Show and these will be clearly signpostedand identified.

13. Emergency Services will have access to all parts of the Showground at all times.

14. In the event of a major incident an incident sheet will be available from the Secretary's Tenton which proper information will be recorded immediately.

Only animals that have already competed in the normal show or drivingclasses may be used. Entire colts are not allowed. 4. The animal gaining the most points will be awarded Supreme Champion of Champions; thesecond highest will be awarded Reserve Champion of Champions

5. In the event of a tie break situation the sponsor Mrs Claire Bell or a nominated individual byherself in her absence will make the final decision.
