ASSESSMENT # 1STEP 1: INTRODUCTION & CHAPTER ONE REFLECTION

The first thing comes to my mind when I entered the class of Accounting, Learning and Online Communication, Is this the right place for me? From the word itself accounting, it really frightens me a lot because all I know is that accounting is all about numbers. When I enrolling this subject I have hesitation because of all of the here saying. But I put in my mind that not only me who has hesitation on this unit but some of the students. When I start listening to the first discussion, it was a little bit exciting and somehow ease my startle inside. The Moodle was presented to us and here's the question that comes up in my mind, is this really work out with all the students? All the quizzes are online? Honestly, I am not used to it. This is all new for me and I don't really understand the Moodle. The mode of teaching here in Australia is different where I came from. But along the discussion, I understand gradually what is the aim or goal with the Moodle. Martin Turner's idea was absolutely brilliant. The way he plans and designs the Moodle was so great, I think he purposely did this to be able the student can follow accordingly that focused on the different ways the student can think learning. This will lead to a student making their assessment #1 on the reflection and using the 6 different approaches on how the student think learning. Can I make my reflection using all those 6 ways? Or can I make it read only without internalizing it? I think I can't, I should do critical thinking before I successfully make my reflection.

In regards to my unit profile, I can see that Martin Turner's did really good in terms of different efforts that may help with the students concerning to various assessments or any activities. Online Communication is one of the best methods that are useful to everyone. Is this helpful for me? or even for all the students? For me, I think absolutely yes because, in fact, we can interchange our thoughts or ideas in terms of every assessments or assignment. Like for example, they provide us Peerwise, in which I can ask questions that are confusing for me or even I can answer questions that I confidently know. And I know it has a privacy because you cannot log-in if you are not a CQU student who enrolled in that particular subject. The second is to make your own blog. Is this real? Making a blog for me is not really working. It's the same thing with Peerwise giving information but the only difference is it was published publicly and anyone can see that even if there, not a student. But somehow, maybe it can help with the other students.

So now, what makes accounting more interested from me? Well, the way I understood what I'm I reading the given study guide was focusing on the importance of accounting in a particular business that emphasizes that it was the key to success of the line of business. Now I know the most triumphant companies in some other countries that give big changes in the lives of the people. And today, it comes in my mind that someday I will become one of the staff of that company (sounds impossible but I believe nothing is impossible if God gives you the right track). On the other hand, I was totally shocked when I knew that there are some many ways to connect with other people and it was a big difference to me on the way the coordinators think the impossible to possible outcomes. They really think on the student's side that what makes them (students) helpful in their studies that would become good

students and to pass the unit. Using Peerwise, Blog of individual students and Facebook page of the unit gives the students a chance to interact with other students in CQU Australia. It's a chance to give and take on our ideas, thoughts, and knowledge of every unit that we can share with others. At the same time, it can help me in managing all my units as if this is my first term in the CQUniversity. I hope through all these social sites I can learn a lot from other students at the same time I can help other students in the same way. And today's generation the world is better in online and I need to develop our online communicating skills as I go along in this accounting unit. Using all the provided social sites I know I can do it and I have the capacities to communicate effectively online.

The exemplar or the previous work of the previous student guide me of making the assessments or assignments that will give me insights or ideas. But before I can make all those assessments and assignments, how can I learn reading the study guide with understanding? Are the 6 different ways we can think learning is beneficent for me? And I just simply "rote learn" never attribute to the words that I read and that was my practice in my previous schooling. This time, can I catch up those things reading the words with understanding? That was so hard for me but I can try my best to cope up those things to be able to pass in this unit. And this is my challenge for myself. I think the first thing I want to do is to internalize the 6 different ways we can think learning so that I can successfully do my assignments well.

On the other hand, we have a lot of business nowadays. And it is fast growing. Stating all those successful business companies in every country makes me more encouraging in studying Bachelor of Business. So, What is an accounting? To be honest, I understand, accounting is the key to success of a business or firm and its purpose is to record and categorize all the transactions and also to provide a concise of financial position of a business. How I understand what accounting is will continue to develop along with my trek in this unit. I actually appreciate how Martin Turner programme the information and key point to easily understand terms by the students.

I have a little bit (maybe not) hard to comprehend all those terminologies in accounting but I will make sure that in my journey here in this unit at the end of the semester I can fully understand and pass this term.
