Today CIO Insight published “12 Tips for Managing Today’s It Challenges”. Not surprising at all to me in that ever and fast changing economic environment - specially if we talk about technology heavily shaken up by the 4 forces Mobile, Cloud, Big Data and Social - technology itself are only a few of the 12 – valuable - tips this article provides to the CIO.

Yes, it’s true that things have dramatically changed for the CIO. A role that historically was a clearly technology focused role in the company.

This indicates that we are witnessing a real revolution where companies and its departments – In this case the IT department headed by the CIO - will have to focus much more on people management and communication aspects, business and business value, hiring and keeping the talent rather than on finding and acquiring the ultimate and supposedly best technology to make their businesses stronger and more competitive.
