HOLLY JOLLY FEST IS TONIGHT (date of emailed newsletter) FROM 6:00 – 9:00PM. Our PTA and staff do an amazing job putting together this event! There will be shopping, games, dinner, raffles, auctions, student performances, and more! Santa always like to a make a special appearance for photo opportunities as well! We hope to see you and your family at this fantastic event. If you have not heard, Indianapolis voted this week, 19-8 in favor of a State- Funded PreK program at the Council Meeting. This is a MAJOR win for PreK scholars in low- income areas. The Warren Early Childhood Center is considered a "School of Choice" for parents that qualify for the vouchers. Marion county is one of the five counties eligible for the available 400 spots beginning in January 2015. The pilot program is expected to ultimately serve approximately 2,000 students in the five counties. If you are interested in getting more information about the PreK Voucher, please contact Mr. Gearlds at the Warren Early Childhood Center at 869-4754. This Week’s Bucket Filler…

Jason Gore Jason Gore in fourth grade is our Bucket Filler of the Week! Jason shows

Excellence daily by helping a Kindergarten student walk safely from Minds-in-Motion back to the classroom. He has been so kind and a good

role model to a younger student. Thanks, Jason, for highlighting the "E" for Excellence in our C.O.R.E. way of being at Liberty Park!

Hand washing is the best way to prevent illness. It is important to wash hands before and after a meal, after playing outside, when using the restroom, and whenever hands get dirty. Please encourage your child to cough or sneeze into their elbow or use a tissue. The nurse’s clinic hours are 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM. The clinic phone number is 317-532-1855. Parents may leave voicemail messages if the nurse is not available. Your message will be returned as soon as the nurse is available. If you have a n urgent need, you may contact the front desk at 317-532-1850.

SCHOOL DISTRICT PUBLICATIONS/NEWS MEDIA USE

The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child's

school. This may include your child's photo, your child's name or your child's work in district

publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff

training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and

radio) about your child's achievements. We never knowingly release information about a

student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes. However, we will

honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognitions if you notify your

child's school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.

BOARD OF EDUCATION TO HOST COMMUNITY LEGISLATIVE FORUM

The Metropolitan School District of Warren Township Board of Education

will host a Legislative Forum on Saturday, January 10, 2015 beginning at

9:00 a.m. at the Warren Education and Community Center at 975 North

Post Road.

This forum is open to the public and the Warren Board of Education

strongly encourages staff members, parents, students, and community

patrons to attend and share your ideas and concerns with our state

legislators.

Questions may be directed to the Office of the Superintendent, Dr. Dena

Cushenberry, at 869-4346.

Warren Girls Youth Basketball: Winter Travel Team Tryouts - Warren Girls Youth Basketball will hold tryouts for our winter travel basketball teams on Tuesday, November 18th from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Warren Central High School Fieldhouse (enter door #14). We will have 3 teams this winter, one for each grade, 4th – 6th. All girls who attend MSD Warren Township schools or live in Warren Township are eligible to try out for the teams. Warren Township Youth Tennis League: Who: Warren Township students, grades 1-8 What: A fun opportunity for students to learn tennis skills and make new friends When: January 21 - March 18 (Mondays and Wednesday from 6-7 PM) Where: Warren Central High School and Creston Middle School Why: Tennis is a fun, competitive, and lifelong sport. Spend this winter learning and

improving your tennis skills! Registration forms can be found online at

www.warrenyouthtennisleague.weebly.com. Print, and return no later than January 21, 2014. Registrations can be turned at the Warren Central Athletic Office, Creston Intermediate Academy Main Office, or by mail to: Warren CTA, P.O. Box 744 New Palestine, IN 46163.

You can also register at one of our registration events at the Warren Central Fieldhouse. The dates will be Thursday, December 18 and Wednesday, January 14 from 6-8 PM. You will need to enter the fieldhouse through door 14. We will be located in the hallway between the fieldhouse and the pool. For questions, contact coach Jason Wagner at [email protected] . If your child wants to play tennis, we want to help make that happen!

Warren Youth League Boys Basketball is short on numbers in grades 4th (18-

23 kids), 5th, and 6th. Coach Ezell Jones has asked if it would be possible to

notify our elementary and intermediate schools one final time regarding youth

league basketball sign ups. The first weekend will start on December 9. Please
