THE EUROPEAN CULTURAL FOUNDATION Objectives of the SchemeAll of ECF's activities revolve around the following three strategic guiding principles:

Empowerment of People through Art and Culture – supporting different communities in Europe and encouraging the exchange and empowerment of under-represented groups. The ECF is specifically interested in: diversity within our societies - projects that reduce exclusion and conflict by bringing people together; and projects that target new audiences and create new places for showcasing culture.Connecting Sources of Knowledge – the ECF believes that sharing and connecting knowledge is vital in creating an open Europe. To this end, it is interested in: cross-sectoral and cross-generational online and offline collaborations - projects that try out innovative and creative partnerships to develop/produce new work, broaden knowledge-sharing and public participation, as well as experiment with new technologies.Linking Policy and Practice – the ECF is interested in projects that help build this open Europe by contributing to cultural policy development locally, nationally, regionally and at European level. It is interested in: impacting on European cultural policy - projects that actively contribute to policy and practice that connect a local perspective to the European level; also projects that bring cultural and political players together in new ways and that raise awareness and help prove the value of cultural policy.Available Funding/Support

Page 8: 113. - Ningapi.ning.com/.../ApexArtsMarchefundingnews.docx  · Web viewMembership for 2013-2014 ... The latest libraries case study is on Circuit Live, a spoken word ... Shortlisted

The average collaboration grant is €15,000, with a maximum grant of €30,000. Grants will not support more than 80% of the project's total budget.

Match FundingECF encourages applicant organisations and their partners to demonstrate their own contributions (in-kind contributions accepted) and to apply to other funders (this should be shown in the budget outline). ECF also specifically welcomes the involvement of local funding partners, as it believes this helps embed the project within the local context.

Eligible ActivitiesCollaboration grants fund transnational, cross-sectoral activities by artistic and cultural organisations working together or with organisations from other sectors.

Transnational collaboration in Europe is the key phrase for this grants scheme. Projects are selected first and foremost on both their transnational and collaborative aspects. Project partners must be involved in all aspects of the project, working together on the planning, the development and the realisation.

Projects should have a strong cultural objective and a concrete end product. To this end, a variety of activities will be supported, such as the creation of artistic work, media projects or cultural policy development, including capacity-building of cultural actors.

Projects must be organised by a cultural organisation in Europe. ECF also encourages cooperation with the southern European region: projects partnering with Mediterranean countries (eg Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Syria and Tunisia) are also eligible, as long as their content relates centrally to European cross-border cooperation.

Who Can ApplyArtistic and cultural organisations working together with organisations from outside the cultural sector are eligible to apply.

The lead applicant must work in the field of arts/culture and be a ‘citizen organisation’ ie non-governmental, not for profit independent organisation.

The partnering applicant(s) must include at least one partner from another sector, such as academic institutes, governmental bodies, commercial enterprises, NGOs etc.

Projects should demonstrate engagement with local creative communities and the desire to liaise with other or similar communities in other parts of Europe. This includes organisations that are looking to work transnationally for the first time.

Ideally, the project should be seen as a starting point for sustainable cooperation between the partners. Projects must be completed 18 months after the contract has been signed.Frequency: Biannual

Trips must be for students in schools or sixth form colleges in the maintained sector. Indeed the Trust is keen to support trips and projects not confined to students taking art exams and not narrowly focussed on the requirements of a particular exam.

The normal maximum grant will be £2,000. The Trust is willing to make larger grants for trips involving students from more than one school. We take value for money into account. We also look for evidence that trips will be enthusiastically and efficiently organised and students carefully prepared for what they will be seeing and doing.

the address of the school or college or other body applying, and the name of the member of staff who can be contacted about the application;the type of institution which the school or college, or other applicant, is;

when the proposed trip will take place and what the itinerary will be;the age group of the students and how they will be selected for the trip;

124. OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS! SONGS OF FORGOTTEN SPRING EXHIBITION, VERTILINE IN LOVESongs of Forgotten Spring is an exhibition and mini-festival being held at arts charity-owned bar and creative space The Riverside in Sheffield during May 2013. The exhibition will explore the transitory nature of the seasons, specifically centred on spring & summer - it will celebrate life and growth, and take a look at how these things change and ultimately leave us, with only the memory of what has been. The exhibition is central to a mini-festival produced by Vertiline In Love which will include workshops, poetry readings, music and more. Vertiline In Love is a vintage-style contemporary craft boutique. Please visit http://vertilineinlove.com to get a feel for our style, as the exhibition will be very much an off-shoot of the boutique concept so you can get a feel for what we're about over there.

Submit work to: Claira Turvey - [email protected] exhibition will be laid out across the space like a large fading flower, with a bright fresh centre, which fades and decays towards the edges. The flower will consist of three distinct circular zones:

1. Vibrant, bright, fresh, alive.

2. Fraying at the edges, tarnishing, mellowing.

3. Faded, dying, death.

Key words: fragile, delicate, memory, antique, nostalgic, dreamlike, natural, floral, joy, melancholy, hidden, secrets.

You may like to include a different piece for each area; focus on one zone (with multiple works if wished); or you may be interested in making connected pieces, ones that relate to each other but move through the distinct floral phases. We'd like textile work (we love embroidery!), painted, pencil, chalk and collaged pieces – we are also able to take a small selection of photography.

This will be a selling exhibition. We are happy to take a limited number of pieces that are for show only. Please contact Claira Turvey at [email protected] for the full brief and further information on how to submit your work.http://www.vertilineinlove.comDEADLINE 18 APRIL 2013

150. PROGRAMME DIRECTOR, CARDBOARD CITIZENSLondon Paid (£30k-40k) Contact: Stuart Grey [email protected] Citizens are seeking a Programme Director to oversee all planning, operational, management and support aspects of a programme of theatre and performing arts workshops and performances in arts venues, hostels and day centres.

Cardboard Citizens is a charity with a twenty-year track record of working with people on the very margins of society, the homeless and often forgotten citizens of a world who live beyond the sightlines of most. We have shown how theatre can be both the means of engagement and the context of change for this constituency. Productions played in people’s own spaces capture their imagination, followed by workshops and advice and guidance which develop confidence and build resilience, leading to substantial change and achievement. As well as these positive personal and societal outcomes, the production of plays for general audiences contributes to public awareness of the stories of the marginalized, the challenges they face, and how they may be overcome.

As Programme Director you will develop effective partnerships which will best position the charity to play a key role in the delivery of London wide cross sector projects over the next few years, in preparation for sustaining the charity’s work post 2015. You will also oversee our Information, Advice and Guidance service, and be responsible for ensuring our support offer is delivered in line with best practice and that our offer of accredited courses to members meets their learning and progression needs.

You will be joining our team at what is an exciting time for Cardboard Citizens. We have recently moved into new premises which for the first time in our history enable us to house all our activities in one space, and we are also undergoing a governance review to support the long term sustainability of the organisation. Both these activities underpin the strategic aims laid out in our recent business plan, and create a stimulating working environment.
