TEAM TAKEPOINT GIVES BACK OVERVIEW TakePoint is giving back to a very deserving veteran, LCPL Kade Hinkhouse; a United States Marine who was injured in Ramadi, Iraq. Kade sustained several injuries when his vehicle was struck by an Improvised Explosive Device including a right leg amputation, two collapsed lungs, a severe skull fracture, resulting in a traumatic brain injury, hemi-paralysis on the left side of body, and the removal of part of Kade's skull. Kade’s team-mate was tragically killed in the attack. Kade was transported to Germany, where he spent 5 days before coming state side. Kade was put in a drug-induced coma for three weeks due to the severity of his injuries. When he woke up, he was completely paralyzed on the left side of his body but after spending almost two years at Walter Reed, he regained almost all function. Recently Kade graduated from gun-smithing school, which landed him a job at Cabela's. He and his wife Becky now live in Elizabeth, CO with their two year old daughter, Zoe. This year’s playground build is the inaugural event with plans and partners in place to implement our charitable giving efforts semi-annually beginning 2015. “Our hope is that we will grow to offer charity events quarterly and even monthly until we’ve touched as many lives as possible,” says TakePoint co-founder Sean Thompson. Joining Team TakePoint are a dedicated team of professionals from Modus Law firm, local community volunteers and a few Denver Broncos cheerleaders; this event will reach its peak during the reveal of a newly installed Cedarworks playground where the Hinkhouse’s neighbors and the entire town of Elizabeth where he resides can celebrate the spirit of freedom, community and philanthropy, just in time for Thanksgiving.
