110 surah al-jumu’ah (the meeting)
DESCRIPTION
What does “Islam” mean? The word الإسلام [Islam] is an infinitive word derived from س ل م [silm] root in if‘al pattern and used as noun and infinitive. The word silm means “release/keeping away; and to be distant from fear, doubt, trouble, lack of peace, unhappiness, fight, war, pain, suffering, material and spiritual inconveniences, weakness and decaying, and all the negativities.” This word is also the root of salim, selam, teslim, Islam etc. The word’s “Islam” form means “strengthening” [removal from problems, worries, fear, unhappiness, fights, wars, and similar negative things]. Hence, the religion Islam means the “the religion that strengthens humans [entire range of principles that protects and secures people by putting a distance between them and problems, worries, war, weakness, spiritual illness, unhappiness, and similar things].”TRANSCRIPT

1All that is in the Heavens and on the Earth exonerate Allah, the Ruler of the Universe, the Pure, the Most Exonerated of all evil and deficiencies, the Most Exalted, the Almighty, the Most Honorable, the Invincible/the Subduer, the Best Law-Maker, the One Who precludes corruption best/makes incorruptible.
2,3He is the One Who has sent a messenger from among the Dwellers of the City/Meccan who are one of them and who recites to the Dwellers of the City and those who have not yet joined them and also other people the Ayat of Allah, exonerates them, teaches them the Scripture, the laws, rules and principles that are stipulated to prevent injustice, mischief and chaos on the Earth. –Even though they were in a blatant perversion before.- And He is the Most Exalted, the Almighty, the Most Honorable, the Invincible/the Subduer, the Best Law-Maker, the One Who precludes corruption best/makes incorruptible.
4Sending a messenger is a gift from Allah He bestows upon whomever He pleases. And Allah is the Possessor of a great gift.

5Example of those who were burdened with the Torah yet failed to carry it is like the donkey that carries books. How evil is the example of a people who deny the Ayat of Allah! And Allah will not guide those who do wrong; act against their own good by associating others with Allah to the righteous path.
6Say: “O you who have converted to Judaism! If you believe that you are the only ones among the people who are close to/helpers of Allah, wish for immediate death of you are righteous”.
7But they never wish the death to come to them because of that which their hands have sent before them/because of their sins. And Allah is the Most Knowing of those who do wrong; act against their own good.
8Say: “Surely, the death, from which you flee, will eventually seize you. Then you shall be returned to the One Who knows the unseen, the unheard, the unfelt, the past and the future, all things that are perceivable. He will inform you about your deeds”.

9O you who have believed! When the call for Salat [Support financially and spiritually; establish and maintain institutions that enlighten the community] is made on the gathering day, hasten for the remembrance of Allah, leave business. If you should know, this is better for you.
10And when you have performed Salat [Support financially and spiritually; establish and maintain institutions that enlighten the community], set out across the Earth and seek for the bounty of Allah. And remember Allah frequently so you may gain victory and maintain your status.

11And when they saw a business and entertainment, they hasten for it and left you standing. Say: “That which is with Allah is better than business and entertainment. And Allah is the Best of providers”.
