Description
Characteristics
ApplicationTo be installed in the suction line of the pumps ofhydraulic systems resp. upstream of the charge pumpsof hydrostatic drives.
Performance featuresProtection againstwear: By means of filter elements that, in full-
flow filtration, meet even the highestdemands regarding cleanness classes.
Protection againstmalfunction: By means of full-flow filtration in the
system return, the pumps above all areprotected from dirt particles remainingin the system after assembly, repairs, orwhich are generated by wear or enterthe system from outside.
Special featuresBy-pass valve: The location close to the suction inlet
prevents dirt particles retained by thefilter element from entering into theclear oil side.
Filter elementlocking valve: Ensures that dirt accumulated in the
filter element is removed together withthe element and cannot return to thetank.
Foot valve: When the screw-on cover is removedfor maintenance, the foot valve closesautomatically. This makes it possibleto service the filter even if it is sub-merged below the oil level in a fulltank.
Filter elementsFlow direction from outside to centre. The star-shapedpleating of the filter material results in:
large filter surface high dirt-holding capacity low pressure drop long service life
In filters with a magnetic system, the ferromagnetic particles
in the fluid pass first through a strong magnetic field and areseparated.
Filter maintenanceBy using a clogging indicator the correct moment formaintenance is stated and guarantees the optimumutilization of the filter elements.
MaterialsScrew-on cap: Polyester, GF reinforcedFilter head: Aluminium alloyFilter bowl: SteelSeals: NBR (Viton on request)Filter media: Paper - cellulose web, impregnated

AccessoriesElectrical and optical clogging indicators are available.Dimensions and technical data see Spec. Sheet 60.20.
Nominal flow rateUp to 130 l/min (see Selection Chart, column 2)The nominal flow rates indicated by ARGO are based on thefollowing features: closed by-pass valve at 200 mm2/s
element service life 1000 operatinghours at an average fluid contaminationof 0,08 g per l/min flow volume
flow velocity in the connection lines 1,5 m/s
If units not equipped with a bypass valve are used inhydrostatic drives, the recommendations regarding theirtechnical application given on data sheet 10.310 should
be observed.
ConnectionThreaded ports according to ISO 228 resp. DIN 13 orSAE-flange (3000 psi). Sizes see Selection Chart, column 6(other connections on request)
Filter fineness10 m ... 60 m-values according to ISO 4572-81(see Selection Chart, column 4 and Diagram Dx)
ACFTD capacity-values in g test dust ACFTD according to ISO 4572-81(see Selection Chart, column 5)
Hydraulic fluidsMineral oil and biodegradable fluids(HEES or HETG,see info-service 00.20)
Temperature range- 30C ... + 100C (- 40C in starting phase)
Viscosity at nominal flow rate < 60 mm2/s at operating temperature start-up viscosity: determine
max, observing the
permissible pressure at the pump inlet according todiagram D; determine p as a function of the viscosity(take into account the pressure loss in the connectinglines!)
on initial operation of units equipped with a bypass valve:max. 70% of the pressure relief valve opening viscosity(indicated by the bend in the p characteristic, refer todiagrams)
Mounting positionVertical mounting to be preferred, suction opening pointingdownwards, versions equipped with foot valve for horizon-tal mounting also

Filter fineness curves in Selection Chart, column 4
The abbreviations represent the following -values resp.
finenesses:For Exapor and Paper elements:
3 E = 3
75 Exapor (3 m abs.)10 E =
10 75 Exapor (10 m abs.)
15 E = 15
75 Exapor (15 m abs.)20 E =
20 75 Exapor (20 m abs.)
10 PA = Paper (10 m nom.)15 P = Paper (15 m nom.)
Based on the structure of the filter media of the 10 PA and 15 Ppaper elements, deviations from the printed curves are quiteprobable.
For screen elements:
40 S = screen material with mesh size 40 m60 S = screen material with mesh size 60 m75 S = screen material with mesh size 75 m
100 S = screen material with mesh size 100 mTolerances for mesh size according to DIN 4189.
For special applications, finenesses differing from these curvesare also available by using special composed filter media.

All filters are delivered with a plugged clogging indicator connection G.As clogging indicators either manometers or vaccum switches can be used.
Order example: The filter E 074-6110 has to be supplied with an extension pipe for a mounting depth of 400 mm.
Order description: ES 134-0501 / ET 400
Part No. (Basic unit)
Mounting depthET (mounting depth) in mm, according to chapter "Dimensions"
The following clogging indicators are available:Part No.DG 100-00 Manometer red area from -0,25 bar fitting on the backDG 101-04 Manometer red area from -0,25 bar bottom fittingDG 902-11 Vaccum switch switching pressure -0,15 barDG 902-12 Vaccum switch switching pressure -0,25 barTechnical data see Spec. Sheet 60.20.
Remarks: The start of the red area respectively the actuating pressure of the vaccum switch has always to be higher than the
cracking pressure of the by-pass valve (see Selection Chart, column 7). The clogging indicators are always delivered detached from the filter. The filters listed in this chart are standard filters. Other designs available on request.
