19911 / 19912 I.V. bottle holder assemblies are adjustable to multiple positions. The 19911 adjustable I.V. bottle holder assembly is for use with ceilings up to 9’. It weighs 6 lbs. and is 22-15/32’’ long in the retracted position and 35’’ fully extended. The 19912 adjustable I.V. bottle holder is for use with ceilings 9’ - 10’. It weighs 8 lbs. and is 32’’ long in the retracted position and 54’’ fully extended. By use of a positive push button safety lock mechanism, each assembly is adjustable and can be raised or lowered to multiple gravity feed positions with one hand. This allows adjustment control to be conveniently reached, yet off the floor and out of the way. The 8-hook unit locks securely at the required hydrostatic flow point and a turn of the I.V. holder assembly will lock and unlock the carrier assembly anywhere along the track. The assembly’s top bottle hold-ers are offset 45° allowing simultaneous use of all holders. All parts subject to mechanical wear are heat treated to mini-mize wear and to ensure proper locking. The system’s rods, tubing and internal operating parts are all machined and fabricated of stainless steel and polished.

19900 series Intravenous (I.V.) support systems

Salsbury Industries’ intravenous support systems have provided medical facilities with years of trouble free service.

These innovative systems are comprised of anod-ized extruded aluminum track and components coupled with stainless steel adjust-able I.V. bottle holders and carrier assemblies. The systems have been designed for easy posi-tioning and positive locking of the I.V. bottle holder assem-blies anywhere along the track. These quality I.V. support systems are conductive and eliminate the danger of static electricity when grounded.

Cubicle Curtains

Salsbury Industries’ custom made cubicle curtains are fabricated from the finest materials. Curtains are reinforced at stress points to provide extra durability. The width of a curtain is a cut size. The height of a curtain is a finished size. Note that a curtain will not finish the exact size it is specified. It will finish within 3’’ of the width and 1’’ of the height. There is a normal and legitimate loss of goods in the manufacturing process due to the seaming of panels and the turning of side hems. Curtain widths should be approximately 10% wider than the track to allow for fullness. Curtains typically hang 12-15” above the finished floor.

100% Avora® Polyester is a soft and warm fabric designed for institutional use. It is the industry standard for cubicle curtains and is available in two pat-terns and many colors to match any decor. It weighs approximately 12 ounces per linear yard. It is inherently and permanently flame resistant meeting fire safety test NFPA #701.

INSTALLING CEILING MOUNTEDI.V. & CUBICLE TRACK

The methods, tools and fasteners required to install track will vary depending upon the ceiling type and institu-tion. Due to these variations, Salsbury Industries does not provide fasteners. To install I.V. and cubicle track, consider these suggestions:

1) Cubicle track should be drilled in the center at a maximum of 32” intervals to accommodate the fastener being used. Use a maximum of 16” intervals for securing I.V. track. End caps, snap out fittings and splices should be drilled at the ends of the track for these same fasteners. If you are installing cubicle track, it should be determined which end of the track is preferred for the snap out fitting which allows the user to install and remove the carriers. Note - the head of the screw should be no larger than a #12 pan head so that the carriers can clear.

2) Mark the ceiling where the track is to be installed. Prop the predrilled track in position against the ceiling in alignment with those marks. Depending upon the fastener being used, track can be fastened to the ceiling without any additional drilling. If the fastener requires predrilled holes in the ceiling for an insert or toggle bolt, mark the hole locations before drilling the ceiling.

3) If splicers are required for the installation, make sure the edges of the track are aligned and free of burrs so that the carriers run smoothly. This should be done prior to fastening the track to the ceiling.

The following diagrams represent some of the accept-able mounting installation methods for I.V. and cubicle track. Mounting hardware is provided by the contractor. Note - on drop ceiling grids, it is recommended that I.V. track be securely fastened to the structure of the building.

TRACK ESTIMATING INFORMATION

1) Determine the appropriate track system necessary for the job: 19900 series I.V. track (pages 2-3) or 19100 / 19200 series cubicle track (pages 4-5).

2) Determine if the track will contain splices. Smaller jobs typically use track with splices to meet U.P.S. shipping requirements. Larger jobs typically use track without splices for ease in installation.

3) Determine the scale of the drawing and measure the track requirements. The full length of any continuous track with a bend is considered curved track. Calculate the accumulated straight track and curved track requirements and multiply these by the appropriate costs per foot. When calculating the footage, track lengths over 12’ must be charged for maximum lengths (17’ for 19900 and 16’ for 19100 & 19200 series). Note - if the track is to be spliced, it is advantageous to use 2’ x 2’ (90° or 45°) bends and to splice in straight pieces.

4) Note that curved pieces of track are identified by RHB (right hand bend) or LHB (left hand bend). To determine which “hand” a curved track is, visualize the track from above the ceiling with the longer length of track running vertically and the shorter length at the bottom running either horizontally to the left (LHB) or to the right (RHB).

For Cubicle Track only

5) Determine the necessary end stops and snap out fittings by calculating the number of cubicles or tracks that are required. In most installations, there are two end stops and one snap out required per cubicle.

6) Calculate the quantity of curtain carriers required by mul-tiplying the total footage of cubicle track by 2.2. (Multiply this total by the carrier cost). The multiplier (2.2) allows for cur-tains approximately 10% greater than the track size.

7) Combine all the component quantities and add the totals of straight track, curved track, carriers, end stops and snap outs.

Note - Consider using an architectural drawing (also referred to as a Reflected Ceiling Plan). These plans provide a view of all ceiling fixtures required for an installation including the l.V. and cubicle track shown as viewed from above the ceiling.
