LOOKING FORWARD TO A GREAT YEAR
Welcome to second grade! We are excited to partner with you in your child’s education. We want this year to be full of fun and learning.
DAILY BINDER
This comes home daily and returned to school daily. Inside your child’s binder you will find their planner and four dividers. We have communicated to your child that we do not care if they complete all their homework on Monday; however, they need to keep it in their binder until the due date. The important notes section of the binder is for lunch money, change of transportation or communication from you.
PLANNER AND
HOMEWORK
This year your child will be expected to write in his or her planner. Each Monday they will write down their week’s important events, homework, and quiz dates. It is up to your child to write neatly and legibly so you can read this with them. Also, your child’s expectation card is located in the planner. Please make sure to sign daily.

You will find educational apps, sight words and other materials to help your child be successful outside the classroom.

REMIND 101:
Be sure and sign up for Remind 101 with your child’s teacher code. This is another communication tool to inform you of important events or school information.
Wednesday’s Folders
Every Wednesday your child will come home with their red folder. This will contain the previous week’s graded papers, along with any other school related forms. Please review your child’s papers each Wednesday and return empty folder on Thursdays.
GRADES THR-Take Home Reader MM- Moose Math WW-Word Work MAJOR assignments are the only tests that will have a retest.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Some second grade teachers have classroom twitter accounts. This is a fun way to connect to other classrooms around the world. If you would like your child to be able to participate in our weekly tweets, view what your child is doing in class, then check with your child to make sure you have checked the appropriate code through Info-snap.
