MISSION PROJECTED INTO THE FUTURE
COLMAR began its activity in 1963, thanks to the idea of two simple guys. These men
started producing machines for the earth-moving and agricultural sector, assembling
different parts of military machines left by the American army after World War II.
In 1967, the first COLMAR Railroad Loader was produced. The machine was used in the
construction of the of the Rome-Venice railroad line in Italy.
In 1968, COLMAR produced the first semi-mobile industrial loader designed for the
lifting of heavy loads by installing a rotating cabin on a lorry chassis.
In the early 70’s, COLMAR, owing to the experience gathered in the sector of earth
moving machines, increased and widened its product range. Furthermore, significant
improvements of the design procedures, aimed to spur the production of industrial
loaders and of equipment manufactured for the construction and maintenance of
railroads.
In order to expand its product range for the metal recycling business during the 90’s,
COLMAR began the manufacturing of Balers and Shear Balers for ferrous and non
ferrous scrap.
In 2005, the new CAYMAN series horizontal shears emerged as a new product on
the world market. These machines are characterized by their ease of use, their low
maintenance requirements, and their high production output.

specific rail road loaders, and special hydraulic machines.

from an attentive analysis of their necessity and application. From here, these machines are built with the best materials and technologies

Our technical office is at the customer’s disposal in order to satisfy special requests on machines, equipment and accessories.

403Load sensing loadersThe load sensing hydraulic system assures maximum output by distributing the oil flow where and when it is needed. The varying capacity piston pumps allow for the correct required oil flow, without waste. They allow for low fuel consumption and a higher productivity of the machine, which automatically performs at the operator’s commands. The load sensing system allows one to operate faster and with greater precision. Additionally, the vibration reduction allows for a more comfortable environment in which to work.
Hydraulic system: LFSS Hydraulic system (logic flow summation system) with constant power regulation, main pump with axial pistons, variable capacity with regulation of the absorbed power, distributors with anti-crash and anti-cavitation valves. Monocorp distributor with disposals for the automatic sum of oil capacities. Servo command disposals, ergonomic joysticks integrated with auxiliary command function bottoms.
Transmission: Four wheel hydrostatic transmission, axial piston Hydraulic motor, variable displacement auto regulator, 2 gear velocity selectable from the cabin. Axial with epicyclical reductions on the hub. Oscillating front axle with hydraulic block. Wheels: coupled front and rear wheels with plain super elastic rings. Steering gear: device commanded from the cabin by powersteering supplied by a proper oil gear pump.

Industrial loaders for wood handlingCOLMAR’s industrial loaders are widely employed within the wood industry, for loading/unloading operations of wood, in piling logs in a yard, for fixing of materials in the sawmills, and also in order to predispose trunks and boards on stocks.
The specific equipment such as pinchers and buckets for trunks, the front blade or the tracked versions for slippery grounds, allow one to obtain a specifically fast and productive customized machine, which has very low management costs.

Rail road loadersCOLMAR railroad loaders are used for the construction and maintenance of railway lines.The machines can be equipped with different accessories: rail pincers, hydraulic or mechanicalframe beams for moving sleepers, tamping units, pincers for different usage, hydraulic hammers,hydraulic bush-grass cutters. COLMAR railroad loaders are made of a strong electro welded steel and are outfitted with hydraulic systems made with high quality components. The loaders are complete with security systems and can be adapted to work in different countries.
The range of machines includes loaders from 17,5 to 33 tons, with diesel and turbo diesel engines from 70 HP to 152 HP.

TransportationAll balers (except the model B5000 HD) can be easily loaded onto and unloaded from normal trucks, thanks to the roll-on-roll-off system. On request, they can be fixed on a suitable truck, trailer, or semi-trailer. The B5000 HD model can be fixed onto a suitable trailer or semi-trailer.
The Lifting Cylinders equipment: Balers can be equipped with four lifting cylinders in order to load and unload from a standard semi-trailer.In this case, the baler automatically lifts with no use of a crane, the truck then can easily move under the machine, after which the lifting cylinders retract and the baler is ready to be moved.

PortabilityThis range of balers can be permanently installedon a semi-trailer, in order be transported to other locations. The machine works autonomously through its hydraulic system which is built in the trailer and the loading boom arm for the handling of the scrap material.

The great utility of this machine, which is equipped with 2 large diameter axial pushing pistons,is evidenced in its considerable compaction power of the scrap material within a small axial space. This makes it possible to install the machine on suitable semi-trailers in order to transport it.

Automatic shear balers COLMAR shear balers are used as compactors in the car crushing industry, for the recovery ofwaste from industrial processes and in the recycling industry. For the same purposes they can also be used in the shear mode. the automatic cycle for compacting and cutting makes these machines particularly efficient for the processing of scrap materials.
Radio remote control with automatic function After the loading, the machine can work in the automatic cycle made for compacting or cutting sequences and can be controlled with the radio remote control.
This device is essential when the operator sits on a separate loader to feed the baler/shear baler.

CuttingThe scrap is cut with the guillotine horizontal shear. The cut material is contained by a plate located under the portable blade holder that pre-determines the length of the cut.
Blocking sheetThe blocking sheet is located inside the structure of the machine, at the entrance of the shear itself, close to the material gathering plane. Its function is to compact the material to increase its density, and convoy the material to be cut.
