2. Use an AGA Approved flexible hose which complies with AS/ANZ 1869, 10mm ID, class B or D, no more than 1.2m long and in accordance with AS5601. Make sure the hose does not block the fan inlet and can not come into contact with moving parts of the cabinetry - eg. drawers and doors. The Hose should not be subjected to abrasion, kinking or permanent deformation and should be able to be inspected along its entire length. Unions compatible with the hose fittings must be used and connections tested for gas leaks. Ensure the supply connection point is acces-sible with the appliance installed.
Natural GasNatural Gas installations require the connection of a gas regulator. This regulator is supplied with the appliance on purchase. Assemble the regulator (noting the gas flow direction) in accordance with the relevent diagram on page 22. Liquified Petroleum Gas In an LPG installation the gas regulation is made at the gas cylinder and regulation at the appliance is not required.
WARNING:THE APPLIANCE IS FACTORY SET FOR NATURAL GAS. BEFORE CONNECTION TO LPG, THE APPLIANCE MUST BE CONVERTED USING THE INSTRUCTION SHEET PROVIDED. THE TEST POINT PRESSURE SHOULD BE ADJUSTED TO 1.00kPa FOR NATURAL GAS OR 2.75kPa FOR LPG.FAULTY INSTALLATION WILL NOT BECOVERED UNDER WARRANTY.
Step 4: Check edging strip
The edging strip is factory tothe front side edges of the appliancefront frame. This strip provides thecabinetry with extra protection fromany escape of heat. When installing the product, ensurethat the edging strip is correctly locatedon the outer edges of the front frame, before positioning and securing theappliance to the cabinet.
When securing the appliance, thescrews provided are driven
through the edging strips into thecabinet - the seal will straighten upand sit to the cabinet when thescrews are fully home.
Step 5: Secure appliance intohousing unit
Insert appliance into cabinet.Note: The unit housing the appliancemust be appropriatelyTo secure the appliance to the housingunit, open the oven door and screw 2screws through the top corner holes inthe front frame.

Step 6: Commissioning
Burner aeration
All burners have fixed aeration and noadjustment is possible.
Pressure setting
Natural Gas - 1.00 kPaPropane - 2.75 kPaThe pressure test point is on themanifold inlet block. After setting gas pressure, re-tightenthe test point screw, taking care not toover tighten. Ensure that test pointscrew is gas sound, using a non-corro-sive gas leak detecting fluid.
Programmer
The programmer must be set tomanual operation before the oven canbe used manually - see the‘Programmer / Clock’ section.
Electrical Systems Check
In the event of an electrical fault, thepreliminary electrical system check(earth continuity, short circuit, polarityand resistance to earth) must becarried out. There is also a FaultFinding Section in this book.
Ignition
The automatic ignition will continue tospark for a short time after the burnerflame has lit, until the flame is established.
Grill
1. The door must be open for the grillburner to ignite.
2. Turn the Top Oven / Grill controlknob clockwise to the grill setting.Do not push in.
3. Close the door and check that theburner goes out. The grill burner willre-ignite when the door is opened.
Top Oven
1. Close the oven door and turn thecontrol knob to the required setting, the burner will ignite. Do not push in.
Main Oven1. Close the oven door and turn the
control knob to the required setting, the burner will ignite. Do not push in.
Note: At new installations, it may benecessary to make several attempts atlighting before gas reaches the oven,as only a small amount of gas isallowed through at each lighting attempt.
Before leaving the installation
Show the customer how to ignite theovens and grill and give them thisbook. Thank you.
Fault Finding
Method of operationWhen the control knob is rotated fromthe ‘OFF’ position, a microswitchcloses and allows the gas controlsolenoids to be energised; the samemovement of the control rotates anelectrical potentiometer. The micro-computer on the maincontrol board uses the resistance setat the potentiometer to determine theuser’s requirements - ie; oven or grilland oven temperature asked for.The oven temperature is sensed by athermistor in the rear of the oven - thecomputer compares the electricalresistance of this with that set on thepotentiometer and controls the burneraccordingly.
Other inputs to the computer aresignalled by a door switch, the timer /programmer unit and an air flowchecking pressure switch.
The oven fan, cooling fan, and lampsare operated at mains voltage, thesolenoid valves, and controls are at24V. The igniter high voltage coilsare mounted on the main PCB.
Upon applying mains voltage, thecomputer makes a series of checks ofthe air flow and flame detector beforeallowing start up.
Electrical faults
These may be either component failureor wiring / connector faults. Shouldany disconnections be made, it isimportant that they be re-connectedexactly as before or the computerwill lock out; poor connections are themost common fault. It is mostimportant that earth wires (green) areall connected and earth screws tight.
There are two forms of micro-computer lockoutHard lockout ( HLO); for instance, airflow failure. This is indicated by thegreen oven ready light and the redindicator dial flashing. The coolingfan may continue to run for a while.Hard lockout can only be cancelled byturning off the mains electricity supply.
Soft lockout (SLO), for instance, re-ignition failure, will cause the lamp toflash green - the cooling fan may runon, the oven fan will not run on. Tocancel soft lockout, turn off the controlknob.
Should the oven temperature notreach 40˚C within approximately fourminutes, the computer will considerthat a fault has occurred and go tolockout.

FAULT FINDING
29
Typical faults assuming all wiring is correct:
tluaFmotpmyS
HLO on switching On mains Component fault on main PCB, incorrect wiring
HLO on turning On oven/grill Fault on control board / potentiometer, incorrectwiring
Oven start up, burner lights and immediately goes out, oven ready Note: at room temperature, thermistor

Oven fails to ignite, (check that 1. Incorrectly positioned or open circuit electrode sparks correctly) spark electrode (note both grill and oven
electrodes must be connected).2. Faulty solenoid valve.3. Gas not at appliance.4. Blocked injector jet.
Oven goes out before set temperature 1. Incorrectly adjusted spark electrode (low .)tnerruc emalfdehcaer si
2. Low gas pressure.3. Incorrectly positioned potentiometer.4. If oven goes out after approximately 4 mins,
this is due to a disconnected or open circuitthermistor.
Oven fails to re-ignite after set 1. Incorrectly set spark electrode.temperature is reached 2. Low Gas Pressure.
Oven fan fails to start, 1. Open circuit in programmer.burner does not light 2. Component failure on main board
3. Component failure at control board.
FAULT FINDING
Short circuit thermistor assembly.
30
Grill faults are generally similar tothose listed for the oven.
If the cooling fan starts and runs, theelectrodes should spark and thesolenoid valves can be heard to open.If the spark electrodes are correctlypositioned and no spark occurs, theremay be an air detector pressure switchfault, one faulty solenoid valve or nogas supply.
