An Epistle from Paul:Redeem the Time! – A public speaker was invited to address the Alumni Association of Yale University. Admonished to keep his comments “brief,” the speaker decided to base his speech on the four letters that

spell YALE. He began by saying the letter Y stood for Youth – young people who come to the university filled with potential. The A, he continued, stands for Attitude – the desire to learn and grow. After lengthy remarks on the Y and A, he moved on to L, pointing out that it stood for Loyalty – the devotion necessary for alumni to possess toward their alma mater. The speaker’s thoughts were good but he rambled on for a long time on this point alone. Finally, he came to his last letter. E, he said, is for Enthusiasm – the feeling everyone here should have being a Yale graduate. An hour and a half later, the speaker concluded. As he sat down, a bored listener was heard to have said, “I’m sure glad we didn’t graduate from Southern Methodist University!”

Let me use the above to help illustrate another important principle found in God’s Word. Ephesians 5:15-16 says, “Therefore, be careful how you walk, not as unwise men, but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil.” KJV uses the phrase “…redeeming the time” for “making the most of your time. How we all need to carefully and wisely use the time each and every day God gives to us. Let us help each other be better stewards of days we each have remaining in this world! We will continue to strive to waste no one’s time or energy in our worship and service to our Lord and Savior the Christ! Amen!!

New Study to Begin This Sunday!

As was announced this past Sunday, there will be the start of a new study in the book of Romans. This will take place this coming Sunday, May 6th during Bible School. This class will be meeting closest to the sound booth. Daniel Bell and Jon Rieger will be the teachers. What an excellent opportunity to do some deep study in a

deep book of God’s Word. It will be worth the effort to come and involve yourself in this study. Plan now to come Sunday and get in on the ground floor of this significant study. Bring your Bibles!!!
