IINNDDIIAANNOOLLAA — Simp-son College studentStephen Henrich, ofMason , received the final-ist ranking at this year’sMathematical/Interdisci-plinary Contest in Model-ing.

Henrich is currently afreshman mathematics,biology and biochemistrytriple major.

During the 96-hourinternational competition,three-person studentteams worked together tosolve real-world problemsfaced by scientists. Out ofthe 19 teams Simpsonentered in the competi-tion, one team received thefinalist ranking, meaningthat the team finished in

the top 2 to 3 percent ofteams worldwide. Simp-son’s team was one of only10 U.S. teams to receivethis ranking.
