2.1 Modifying the BIE Visibility
2.1.1 Task Description
Purpose To modify the visibility of a BIE
Prerequisite The BIE is configured on the BSC Data Auto Configuration System.
Note
z The boards not configured with hardware are invisible and cannot bedeleted. You can only add sites to the visible BIE.
z You can modify the visibility of more than one BIE in a module in oneoperation. In a multi-module BSC, the transparent transmission BIEcannot be set to invisible.
2.1.2 Procedure
This part uses an example to show how to modify the visibility of BIEs. Assume that youhave to set the BIEs numbered 4 and 5 in BM1 to visible, and the ones numbered 7, 8 and 9 toinvisible.
The procedure is as follows:
Step 1 On the BSC Data Auto Configuration System, choose BSC > Modify BIE Visibility .
The Modify BIE Visibility dialog box as shown in Figure 2-1 is displayed.

In the Modify BIE Visibility dialog box, except for the transparent transmission BIE, no other BIEconnects to any site. Do not set a transparent transmission BIE to invisible.
You can press Ctrl or Shift to select more than one BIE.
Step 2 Select Module 1 from the Select Module drop-down list.
Step 3 Select No.4 BIE Board, Invisible , No.5 BIE Board, Invisible , No.7 BIE Board, Visible , No.8 BIE Board, Visible , and No.9 BIE Board, Visible from the Select BIE box.
Step 4 Click Next .

The modified data tables in the BSC Data Management System list all the data tables related to thedynamic configuration. These data tables are refreshed and set to the GMPU during the dynamicconfiguration.
Hereafter, modified data tables have the same meaning as that explained here.
2.2 Modifying the GLAP Visibility
2.2.1 Task Description
Purpose To display or hide the GLAP
Prerequisite The GLAP is configured on the BSC Data Auto Configuration System.
Note
z The LAPD links can be assigned to only a visible GLAP.
z You can change the visibility of more than one GLAP in a module inone operation.
2.2.2 Procedure
This part uses an example to show how to modify the visibility of the GLAP. Assume that you
have to set the GLAP numbered 6 in BM1 to invisible and the one numbered 7 to visible.
The procedure is as follows:
Step 1 On the BSC Data Auto Configuration System, choose BSC > Modify GLAP Visibility .

2.9.1 Configuring Trunk Circuits
Task Description
Purpose To modify the visibility of the FTC and the properties of trunk circuits onthe FTC
Prerequisite The FTC has been configured in the initial data configuration on the BSCData Auto Configuration System.
NoteThe boards such as the FTC, BIE and GLAP in the BSC use fullconfiguration. The FTC that is out of service cannot be deleted in theinitial data configuration.
Procedure
This part uses an example to show how to modify the property of the trunk circuit on the FTC.Assume that you have to modify the CIC value of No.72 FTC in BM1 as 31, 65535, 32, 33 61. The integers from 32 to 61 have an increment of 1.
The procedure is as follows:
Step 1 On the BSC Data Auto Configuration System, choose BSC > Dynamic Configurationwithout Command > Trunk Circuit .
