The big event Friday evening, Nov. 4, from 5:30 to 8 p. m.— a men's supper, prepared and served by men of the church and con-gregation, with entertainment of exceptional merit and amusement, all for 75c for adults and 35c for children. Benefit of church.
DON'T MISS IT—BIG DOINGS
We are pleased to see the renewed interest in all societies of the church. A place for everyone and every one in place" is our motto.
We should like to solicit your co-operation in the work we are aiming to do here. If you don't attend church anywhere else, make this your church home. Mr. Herman Ahrens is treasurer and will be pleased to furnish envelopes to any wishing to contribute, and Mr. Castle will tell you about our finances any time. We wish to make this a house of worship and work in the highest and most practical sense.
The Missionary Society will meet at the home of Mrs. H. K. Brockway Tuesday afternoon at 2:30. Mrs. A. V. Wood, a missionary from Cuba, Porto Rico, Mexico and New York City, but now in Chicago, will speak.

y-five Years Ago Hold Reunion in Austin.
A most delightful reunion of the "Galaxy Girls" was held at the home of Mrs. Lottie Coltrin in Austin last Thursday. A dainty five course lunch was served by Mrs. Coltrin and Mrs. Meyer, who acted as hostesses and while partaking of the delicious viands many reminiscences and events of long ago were enjoyed.
This girls' club known as the Galaxy was organized in Barrington in the summer of 1887. The girls who made up the club were members of Mrs. M. 33 McIntosh's bible class of the Baptist Sunday school when Rev. C. T. Everett was pastor of that church
For two years the members of. the club were actively esgaged in helping to raise money for repairs on the church and incidentally enjoying the social life which they created. Then Cupid succeeded in breaking into the charmed circle, and is a short time most of the girls had moved away to homes of their own in other communi-ties. The last reunion was held at the home of Mrs. Martha Leonard Kings-ley in the fall of 1889.
The reunion of this year was to be in honor of Ethie Boyce Bennett, whose sudden death so greatly sad-dened her club sisters
All the other members were present except Nettie E. Lombard, of Los An-geles, California, from whom a long and most interesting letter was receiv-ed in time to be read at the lunched
Those present were Ida Dodge Co Spring Grove; Maude Filkins Cas Arlington Heights; Emma Bar Brockway and Flora Davis Me Barrington; Ruth Klnick Barnett, gin; Cora Klnick Loomis, Barring Center; Cora E. Higley and Ma Leonard Kingsley, Chicago; and hostesses Lottie Castle Coltrin of A tin and Zoa Sizer Meyer of Oak Par
A group picture was taken as a com-panion piece to the one taken in 1887

E, • - - e "if, 5, Ladies' quartet, Mrs. Dudley The seventtpfifth anniversary ;
celebration held at the Baptist church Sunday afternoon was an occasion of considerable interest to the old because they lived their early years again in memory, and to the young because of the after-noon's histbrical significance. About 125 persons attended the celebration.
The church history was given by Arnett C. Lines, grandson of M. B. McIntosh, a prominent church official of two generations ago.
Beginning with the Winnebago and Piottawotomi Indians who left this section about 1827 Mr. Lines led his audience through the years to the present time. After the Indian tribes had left, settlers thought it safe to enter the coun-try, and in 1833 four missionaries, sent by the American Baptist Home Missionary Society, made their appearance.
The Barrington Baptist church organization first came into exis-tence in Barrington Center when in 1847 twenty men and women banded themselves together. This was a large group for those days, the membership of churches in surrounding towns being 12 or 13. Elder J. L. Brooks, grandfather of Leslie Paddock, was the first pastor.
When the railroad came through in 1854 and the village began to grow up around the railroad sta-tion the center of population mov-ed from Barrington Center to Barrington. So it came about that in 1859, seventy-five years ago, the present church edifice was built in Barrington at a cost of only $2250.
Mr. Lines pictured for his au-dience the interior at that first building, its choir left in the rear, its Iwo stoves with their long pipes, its clear glass windows and its old pews which were actually purchased by church members.
Following was the complete pro-gram of the afternoon:
Prayer, Rev. C. R. Drussel. Welcome to the Men, Rev. C. R.

DEDICATION HYMN
Our thankful prayers we send on this occasion For bricks and stones reformed to honor Thee; That in these walls might grow the grand elation That sin-torn souls know, struggling to be free,
:y-we know truth and may its healing light Free souls and minds to glory in Thy sight,
If we would lead, we first must learn to follow, We pledge this church to join the long crusade, Though voices sing, the echoing ring is hollow If just a building joins the long parade, We pledge ourselves, our souls, our hearts, our hands That all may see God's glory in our land o .
Let void-es ring to make this dedication A. joyous song of goals already won, And we must sing a song of inspiration; These walls embrace a task that's just begun, Here we must learn the way of truth and love That eyes may see and turn to Thee above,
Words by Richard Johnson Tuner Finlandia
