The mound is flat not like a bump. Baseball’s mound is like a bump. NOT SOFTBALL

Kids under 10 : bases are 55ft (16.77 meters)

Home plate and pitchers mound:35ft (10.67 meters)

Edge of the outfield: 150ft (43.77meters)

An adult field : 265ft (80.77meters) Batters box: 7ft long 3ft wide

Your body should be toward the target you are throwing at when throwing

Over hand throwing goes long distances

Relay throw is also called “hitting the cut off man”

You need to move under a fly ball to catch it

Softball History

The first game: 1887 Had many names: kittenball, Mushball,

Indoor-Outdoor, Playgroundball, and more

In 1926 it was named softball 1933 was the year a meeting was held

to set the rules

There are 9 players on a team if fewer than that team has to forfiet
