Since 2007, this program has allowed approximately twenty-five Danish and twenty-five American students each year to visit each other’s country, visit their schools, and see local sights in the region. As one American student said when reporting to the local School Board, “Second only to my Dad coming back safely from Iraq, this has been the greatest experience of my whole life!”(B. Elliott).

Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education (KDP) named Dr. Pamela Godt the First Recipient of the O.L. Davis, Jr. “Counselor of Distinction Award” at the Biennial Convocation of Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education, held in Orlando, Florida. The award was presented by Dr. O. L Davis, Jr. himself. This award is the highest honor that Kappa Delta Pi presents to its Counselors. To earn this distinction, one had to meet stringent criteria for excellence in Chapter Leadership, Scholarship, Service, and Professional Development over the past five years. Dr. Godt received a metal medallion inscribed with the award and her name and date, as well as a certificate and pin honoring her (Oct. 31, 2009).
