Assignment and Project Description

1. Field Study Report Time : Week 6-7 (tentative) Weigh : 10% Description:

All Basic Broadcasting students are required to plan and conduct a one day visit to several broadcasting (TV and radio) broadcasting in East Java region, preferably in Surabaya. The trip will be focus on how broadcasting media institutions run their program professionally. A group of 3 students write a report relating to broadcasting media system, technologies, and/or production practices from their field study activities. The report should be written as a travelogue (max 500 words, in English), photos are also required to be attached.

2. Group projects Time : Week 1-14 Weigh : 35% Description:

On week 1 meeting, students are divided into two group categories: small group and big group. The small group consist of half the big group, depending on how many students registered in each class. Ideally, in 50 students class, there should be 10 small groups and 5 big groups. Students in small groups will create a radio product, and create a television product in big groups, which both focus on campaigning or sharing ideas of anti-corruptions in Indonesia. The selected products will be sent to Indonesian Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) as KanalKPK materials (further information on KanalKPK visit www.kpk.go.id/kanal.

Task one: Radio Program Project and Report SubmissionStudents are requested to plan a creative radio broadcasting product in two forms: 15 mins (max) drama or 3 minutes (max) public service advertisement. The project should contain concise message on anti-corruption ideas. The finished product from all groups in class (in softcopy) must be collectively burned in DVD by .mp3 format. MEANING ONE CLASS ONLY SUBMIT ONE DVD. However, a written report which also must be submitted should be created individually by each group.

Regarding the finished products:All project file should be titled as follow: Name of the chairman of the group-project title.mp3For example: delfia-hatingcorruptedtime.mp3LATE SUBMISSION PRODUCT WOULD NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Task two: Television Program Project and Report Submission Students are producing either 15 mins (max) feature stories, 30 mins (max) tv drama, 4 mins (max) video clip, 30 mins (max) documentary or fiction film, etc. which as the task one, should contain concise message on anti-corruption ideas. The finished product, in mp4 format only, must be burned individually with proper cover indicating title of the project, summary, and name of the group members. Report should also be written individually per each group, submitted both in hard copy and soft copy.
