British English vs. American EnglishYou will need your glossary with the British and American words that was given to you in class. You will use a minimum of 20 different BRITISH words to record yourself being a tour guide in London. For this you will first have to search for incredible places people should visit when going to England. Once you have got the information you will record yourself and you will send it to me by email: [email protected] or in a USB directly in class. To practice the British Pronunciation of the words which you will use, you will access the following link to practice them: http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/pronunciation

Drawing InferencesFirst let`s review the following:“How can you draw INFERENCES from the text based on what is stated?” EXPLICITLY and IMPLICITLY

What is an INFERENCE? A conclusion drawn from evidence or reasoning; “reading between lines”

What is EXPLICIT? Clearly and directly stated; leaving no question about the meaning.

What is IMPLICIT? Not directly stated, but understood in what is expressed

Now you will use all this information to make your draw your own inferences with the following pictures. You will print each of the pictures, paste them on your notebook and under it you will write something EXPLICIT and something IMPLICIT of it. Here’s an example:

EXPLICIT:There animals and people in a public place near a river. IMPLICIT:I think it could be a holiday and they are spending time with their families.

Abilities are all of the things that you can do that not everybody else can.For extra help on the characteristics you can always go back to your list of character traits in your notebook.

Work in your homework journal to write two 50 word paragraphs. The first will be describing your characteristics and the second will focus on your abilities. Abilities can include anything from cooking to playing an interment etc.
