Warming up:

Write down your career ambition and the qualifications that you think might be needed to achieve that ambition.

For example:

To be a teacher, you need

• four-year study in a normal university

• teaching practice for one or two months.

• an interview which will decide whether you can be employed.

1. Pair work.

Tell your partners your career ambition and what qualifications you might need to achieve it.

Then some students will explain them to the whole class.

2. Discuss in pairs the problems women who want a career might have.

Then make a list of the problems.

For example:

More difficult to get a chance to go to high school.

Fewer chances to get training.

…..etc.

3. Compare your ideas with the big group of yours.

Choose one student of your group to make a list on the blackboard. We will see which group have the best ideas.

4. Discuss in groups of four what other qualifications you will need in your career, besides training and education.

1. Listen to the text for the first time.

Make notes of the three problems in Exercise 2.

Check whether you and the speaker share the same ideas.
