always respected and appreciated farmers and the significant role Iowa
plays in feeding, clothing and fueling our na9on and the world!

Aaron lends a hand in all aspects of ISA’s communica9ons and consumer rela9ons ac9vi9es. They include me-
dia rela9ons, serving as an associa9on spokesperson, authoring content, conduc9ng editorial board visits and
managing rela9onships with key industry stakeholders. He also assists with the Iowa Food & Family Project, a
consumer-facing ini9a9ve that’s building trust in modern agriculture.
Aaron obtained degrees in communica9ons, public rela9ons and journalism from the University of Northern

NEW THIS YEAR! The Rallies for Youth Committee is excited to announce a new feature that will enhance your auction experience. We have partnered with QTEGO, an online bidding company, to help ease the registration process, allow you to enjoy the night without needing to check your item every few minutes, help you be with your guests and friends, and making check-out a breeze. We will soon have a dedicated Rallies for Youth website which will feature our club’s infor-mation and showcase our sponsors. All auction items will be listed on the website and will be easily accessed from your mobile device or computer. This should make the silent auction pro-cess easy, entertaining and fun! What if you didn’t win an item but want to donate? With the simple click of a button, your do-nation will be received! Can’t make the event but want to participate? No problem, we can register you as a guest and you can bid on silent auction items or make donations right from your mobile device. Tired of waiting in line to look at all the items? We have you covered. All of the items will be listed on the site and you can peruse them from your table or next to the bar! Tired of losing a silent auction item at the last minute? No worries, QTEGO allows you to set a bid maximum on items that will automatically outbid someone until you reach your max-imum bid! Somebody out bid you? You will receive an alert telling you to check your item. Live auction bid paddles, remembering your bid number, missing something to make sure you are still in the lead, not anymore! Your bid number is your phone number! Checking out with QTEGO is easy too because you check out on your phone! We are very excited about this new feature! We have received some questions regarding mobile devices. What if you are not a fan of using your mobile device? No problem! QTEGO will send a dedicated team to our event to help make sure you can bid on the items you want. For more information on QTEGO, we encourage you to visit: www.qtego.com. We will communicate the website for our event as soon as it is up and running! A few weeks before our event we will demonstrate how to use your mobile device to bid, check out, and do-nate! Thinking of being a sponsor now? Let us know and we can share the sponsorship levels and show you how QTEGO will help promote your business at the event!
LAST WEEK – October 5, 2018 – Jay Kidwell: Channel 4 Sports Director
Jay Kidwell with Channel 4 LOVES his job and he is not going anywhere! He and his family came here seventeen years ago from the east coast. He was a big follower of the New York Yankees. Now his main job is following all the local high school sports teams from Iowa and Illinois. Jay enjoys participating in “extra” projects that the multiple teams have. The grocery cart race for the local food pantries put on by the Lady Lancer basketball team is one of the best! He has also done a bull ride for a few seconds. He is looking for suggestions of projects to participate in. Jay has three kids and in earlier years his son would tag along with him to games and practices. A must for television news is perfect hair! If he was still out east, he would be coloring his hair now, but chan-nel 4 is OK with his gray hair.
Sixty one attended on Friday, as we met in the atrium. John Maxwell auctioned off goodies made by Linda Paustian, Mary Golinghorst and Deb Peterson for $435.00. The buyers were Dr. Brad Burt, Steve Suit-er and Sheila Volrath. Leroy Paustian won the 50/50 drawing (again) of $82.00. Nathan Kessler was the ser-geant and collected $42 in fines. October birthdays were celebrated. Pat Olsen explained how the sign-ups for the auction tickets will be and also that items will only be accepted thru October 26. A few of the members went out after the meeting, canvassing for gift cards and auction donations. Guests attending on Friday were Duncan Cameron, Joan Maxwell and Heather Wagner.
The 4 Way Test Of the things we THINK SAY or DO
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
