Useful tools

You should check all documents using the spelling and grammar checker. The icon for this can be found on the standard toolbar.

Grammatical mistakes are highlighted in green.Spelling mistakes are highlighted in red.

You can also use the Word Count, found on the Tools menu, to check how many words are in your document.

You should also proof-read documents, as the spellchecker is not foolproof. Make sure that the dictionary language is set to UK English, as Word has US English as a default setting.

Mail Merge

Mail Merge can also be used to create labels, directories and e-mail messages.

What is Mail Merge?

Word imports data from your database or spreadsheet into the places where you require it to go. It makes addressing letters and envelopes a simple task.

Mail merge is the process by which information (e.g. addresses and names) from a database or list is inserted into a standard document or letter to produce multiple personalized copies.
