Why we celebrate baptism
Celebrate Your Life in Christ! At Gateway, we believe water baptism is a
celebration of your decision to follow Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Just as the symbols of the wedding and wedding ring are a declaration of a marriage covenant, water baptism is the outward declaration of the covenant you’ve made with God. As your church, we would like to stand with you as you publicly declare you have made the decision to surrender your life to the Lord.
Baptism
Baptism is a Christian rite of admission and adoption , almost invariably with the use of water, into the Christian Church generally and also a particular church. The canonical Gospels report that Jesus was baptized a historical event to which a high degree of certainty can be assigned. Baptism has been called a sacrament and an ordinance of Jesus Christ. In some denominations, baptism is also called christening, but for others the word "christening" is reserved for the baptism of infants.
Who created baptism
Baptists are individuals who comprise a group of denominations and churches that subscribe to a doctrine that baptism should be performed only for professing believers believer's baptism, as opposed to infant baptism and that it must be done by complete immersion (as opposed to affusion or sprinkling). Other tenets of Baptist churches include soul competency (liberty), salvation through faith alone, Scripture alone as the rule of faith and practice, and the autonomy of the local congregation. Baptists recognize two ministerial offices, pastors and deacons. Baptist churches are widely considered to be Protestant churches, though some Baptists disavow this identity.
Diverse from their beginning, those identifying as Baptists today differ widely from one another in what they believe, how they worship, their attitudes toward other Christians, and their understanding of what is important in Christian discipleship.
How we do baptism
The proper form of baptism is in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as Jesus designated in Matt. 28:19, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit." The clear command of Jesus is to baptize this way. But, if that is so, then why do we see so many instances in the New Testament where people were baptized "in Jesus' name life and not according to the tradition which you received from us." As you can see, "in the name of the Lord Jesus" and "in the name of Jesus" speak of "in the authority of Jesus." Therefore, when someone is properly baptized, they are baptized in the name of Jesus, that is, by the authority of Jesus. Therefore, when they are properly baptized in the name of Jesus, they should say, "I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit," just as Jesus commanded us to do.

37) And He replied to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind (intellect).(38) Itulah hukum yang terutama dan yang pertama.(38) Itulah perintah yang terutama dan terpenting!(38) This is the great (most important, principal) and first commandment.(39) Dan hukum yang kedua, yang sama dengan itu, ialah: Kasihilah sesamamu manusia seperti dirimu sendiri.(39) Perintah kedua sama dengan yang pertama itu: Cintailah sesamamu seperti engkau mencintai dirimu sendiri.(39) And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself.
