collaboration Stories - How One Tool Doesn’t Fit all anymore

There are so many different products coming out at an even faster pace today and sometimes it feels like we are losing control.

In the past, IT could choose a product and implement it within their organisation. After that, there wasn’t really a choice to use it or not. But today, this cannot work anymore with the age of the internet and self-service.

So let’s take a look at some of the different collaboration stories and what fits where for those of us in the SharePoint and Office 365 space. Will we survive this change?

@share4business #share4biz | www.shareconference.com/sa12 20 – 22 June 2016

workshops

A SharePoint solution without a Governance and Training Plan is like a day without sunshine. A good plan is “necessary but not sufficient” to ensure solution success. You still have to ensure that the Governance Plan is applied, which means your plan needs to be realistic, practical and delivered in a way that makes sure that users can follow it.

In this workshop, you will learn how to create a SharePoint site to deliver governance and training information to your users in a way that they will be able to understand and apply. The approach works for on premises, Office 365, or hybrid environments.

This one-day workshop aims to demystify the new SharePoint 2013 as well as 2016 features. You often see and hear about them at a high-level overview but never in detail. This workshop will go through these details using real-world application as context where possible. This workshop is helpful regardless if you have migrated, planning to migrate or still evaluating the value it could bring.

If you’re looking at Office 365, many of the features and use cases are relatively the same. We’ll cover some of the new features available to see if it makes sense for you to migrate, or use it in a hybrid approach with your own on-premises.

Step-By-Step Approach to Create Your Own Governance & Training Delivery Site for SharePoint

Discover SharePoint and Office 365 - What Do You Have in There?

To offer solutions to your burning questions, we have sourced a diverse mix of local and international Microsoft experts, users, partners and thought leaders. SharePoint: the Million Dollar Investment Bradley Geldenhuys chief Executive Officer, GTconsultOrganisations invest thousands, if not millions, into implementing the best technologies that money can buy to enhance their business. All of this becomes futile if orgnisations fail to establish adequate resourcing and support structures and neglect to ensure that roles and responsibilities are appropriately allocated to get the most out of their investments. The SharePoint space is no different. This session will uncover what goes into a SharePoint investment from outsourcing, resourcing, goals, objectives, expectations, duties, timelines, structures, roles and getting buy-in across the board.

End-User computing Business Value-Driven StrategyBarbara Magongoa Manager, End User computing, Engen Petroleum Ltd In this presentation, you will be taken through the exercise that Engen is busy with, in defining what and how to measure some of the collaboration benefits. Enablement and adoption of productivity tools has to be justified upfront and value-add benefits must be measurable. Learn about the project as well as the business benefits that have been reaped, including, better understanding and usage of products, more trust between business and IT, better communication with the customer and increased productivity.

The Business of Business Education: converging Marketing & IT to Maximise client Experience

Enter the Dragons’ Den: How adcorp Leveraged Technology to Drive Innovation & Ideas within the Organisation

Education institutions are often thought of as cumbersome and bureaucratic. GIBS’ relative youth, our focus on “experiences” within and outside the classroom and being in the business of teaching about business, has provided a unique perspective. Improving the “Customer Journey” is a key component of our digital strategy. Once we understood the extent to which digital interactions integrate everything we do from acquisition, admissions, facilitating learning delivery to finally invoicing, it made sense to integrate IT and marketing. Consequently, the GIBS CIO reports to the Marketing Director and the teams are physically co-located. Hear about how well this works in the case study of our internal communication portal design implemented using SharePoint and Yammer on Office 365.

Adcorp is SA’s largest diversified workforce management and business process outsourcing company. In this presentation, discover how Adcorp leveraged their investment in SharePoint technology, providing a platform through which to drive innovation from staff by offering a million-rand incentive. Dragons’ Den is a leap in organisational thinking, a platform for Adcorp employees to think strategically and for management to harness exceptional ideas for everyone in the business, regardless of position.

Integration of SharePoint in the Gauteng Department of Education Strategic Plan Dr. Peter Mofokeng Deputy chief Education Specialist, Gauteng Department of Education GDE is in a process of reviewing its strategic plan. This presentation will seek to make reference of whether SharePoint as an ICT tool in public service is relevant to the GDE current strategic plan based on its advocated benefits.
