Cognizant of the immense breadth and depth of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) and the wisdom of Vedanta and also the Indian cultural heritage in abundance, Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth (CVV), the University established by the Chinmaya Mission in 2016, embarked upon a voyage of merging Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) with contemporary knowledge systems, in the academic year 2017-18. Here at Chinmaya University, all academic programmes at dierent level are conceived and designed in such a way that a right fusion of Indian knowledge and modern knowledge fields happens so that dierent vistas are open to students, parallelly. It is, indeed, our great pleasure to announce that CVV, from this academic year, would bring out its Newsletter ‘Chinmayaśrī’ twice a year, i.e., towards the closure of each semester. This newsletter a bird’s eye-view on events at CVV, major achievement of students and faculty and other content of interest to its readers. We eagerly look forward to your feedback to improve this newsletter and make it more insightful.

Glimpses of Semester 1 in 2018-19
CVV started the second academic year in a unique way. Swami
Sharadananda Sarasvati guided first and second year students in
performing the auspicious Vidyarthi Homa. As part of this unique
ceremony, all students took 5 vows:
I will take care of my health based on the Neeti statement that the body is
the instrument for fulfilling my dharma
I commit to regular and sincere study based on the Smriti vakya that for
students’ study is considered the highest tapas.
I will strive to be truthful in action, mind and words based on shruti
statement that truth alone leads to victory never untruth.
I strive to gain compassion and give up arrogance, meanness and other
such selfish qualities, following the advice of the wise ones.
I will strive to accomplish following the injunction of the shruti, social
integration through seva.
