Ever since I start holding free lectures, no handouts
were provided on site. I was surprised to discover a
phenomenon: Audience love jotting notes so much!
The second finding is that these people have dull
expressions and are not very reactive, they are just
like note-taking machines without thoughts. If you
move this habit to the workplace, you will pursue
formal efforts instead of making results. If you move
this habit to the conference room, you will become
"participants" with no sense of existence and visibility.
How could they be promoted?

I will briefly describe what I saw during
lectures. Whenever I turn my back, I often see
the black and white heads, people are just
jotting notes. It's not an exaggeration. I can
barely see people’s faces, they copy from start
to finish of the lecture. This makes me wonder
that they are not here to listen to the lecture,
but to copy notes. Only "copying" makes
people feel that they are learning.

Be diligent in taking notes, so you don’t
have to think?
As the saying goes, "Good memorization
is not as good as bad writing." There are
many note-taking techniques that teach
people to strengthen their learning
through note-taking. However, if you put
the cart before the horse and just copy
your notes without listening, the following
three situations will happen:

1. People cannot do two things at once. When you
copy a sentence, you don't hear the next sentence
from the teacher.
2. Copying is slower than speaking. When you copy
a sentence, you miss at least 3 sentences from the
teacher, and only 1/3 of the whole session is heard.
3. Most people copy on a piece of paper, and may
not know where they left it after getting home, then
never look at it.
I would like to remind everybody that jotting notes
will not make you a better life or give you a
successful career. Only the following two things will
help us achieve it:

1.Change your mind
2.Take action
People's behaviors are consistent. When these
people go to work, they will mostly likely adopt this
attitude are most likely to have this attitude,
pursuing formality showing their diligence. But
usually they are not promoted, because they are
diligent in doing things, but lazy in thinking. People
who are lazy to think habitually cope with things,
and turn a blind eye to problems.
