A huge thanks to our P&C and anyone that helped out at our food tent making and selling burgers. We were flat out all day and everyone worked so hard- what a great success it was!! Thanks also to Yeeda who provided such delicious meat for the burgers and sausage sandwiches. Another big round of applause goes to Mrs Chapman and the students that manned our school tent at the show, they made a tidy little sum to go toward our camp next term. You are all legends! So many more people involved in the show need to be thanked- all those involved with setting up and taking down displays (Did you see the exhibitions?? So good!) as well as all of those helpers packing away tents, tables, eskies etc. I’ve been asked to pass on a special thanks from Cam Starcevich to Cynthia McLean, Grace, Stevie, Jack and Rob who helped her remove the displays at the end of the day. To the judges, stewards, other helpers and attendees, THANK YOU! The show is a true demonstration of community spirit and I'm so proud to be part of it. What a fantastic day! The newsletter is a day early this week because I wanted to squeeze in a reminder about school photos, which are taking place first thing on Thursday morning. Please ensure that order and sibling envelopes are brought in to school on Thursday morning to give straight to the photographers. Dear Parents and Community,

What a MASSIVE day we had at the Chapman Valley Show last Saturday. A

huge thanks to our P&C and anyone that helped out at our food tent

making and selling burgers. We were flat out all day and everyone worked

so hard- what a great success it was!! Thanks also to Yeeda who provided

such delicious meat for the burgers and sausage sandwiches. Another big

round of applause goes to Mrs Chapman and the students that manned our

school tent at the show, they made a tidy little sum to go toward our camp

next term. You are all legends! So many more people involved in the show

need to be thanked- all those involved with setting up and taking down

displays (Did you see the exhibitions?? So good!) as well as all of those

helpers packing away tents, tables, eskies etc. I’ve been asked to pass on a

special thanks from Cam Starcevich to Cynthia McLean, Grace, Stevie, Jack

and Rob who helped her remove the displays at the end of the day. To the

judges, stewards, other helpers and attendees, THANK YOU! The show is a

true demonstration of community spirit and I'm so proud to be part of it.

What a fantastic day!

Happy Birthday to Jacinta Philippa and Lachy Ward who

both celebrated their birthdays last week.

The Chapman Valley Show On Saturday, 5th of September, my mum and I went to the Chapman Valley Show. We left at 8 o'clock because my mum was working at the burger tent. When we got there, a lady that let us come in gave us the wrong direction to the burger tent. When we got the right direction, it started to rain so Mum and I ran to the burger tent. My mum said sorry that she was not on time, then I asked my mum if I could have some money. My mum gave me $20 so Made-leine and I went for a walk, even though the show was not open yet. We started to talk about what we would buy and what rides we would go on. Madeleine and I went into the Exhibit Hall. I found my bird, it came first and got the ro-sette. I felt very proud of myself that I got the rosette but sad because Paul, Rebekah and Dad could not see it because they were still at home. My self-directed learning came first, my poem came second, my story also came second and other things that I have forgotten. Then Madeleine said that we should go get a show bag. As we walking, we saw Ryan at the show bag stand too. We all got the same show bag. It had 101 candy sticks in it. Then we saw Lachy, he got a show bag that had two long sticks of sherbet and two long sticks of bubblegum as well.

I said why don't we go on the bumper cars, so we all started to make our way to the bumper cars. Then everyone from our class that I saw on Saturday went on the bumper cars with us. It was so much fun. Everyone had their own car and we went crazy. I will never forget that day in my whole life. After that, I had to go on our class stall with Tahnee and Shanaya. We sold three cook-books and a windmill. I could taste the lol-lies in my mouth. I felt so tired after I got off the stall. Even Maddy felt tired after I got off because she waited for me. Our shift went for one hour. Then I went to the burger tent where my mum was working. The burger tent was to raise money for the school and I helped by saying that there was a person waiting. Then I just watched them until it was time to go home. My mum said to me that it was very tiring work making burgers and hand-ing out hot dogs to the people. I was very tired and so was my mum. I could not wait until we went home but first my mum had to see my photos and get the three trophies that I won. Then we went home and I had a rest. by Grace

We have secured three of Geraldton’s most beloved dancing in-

structors to bring us up to speed on the basics. We really hope

that you will come along and enjoy the lead up to the ball with

fun and casual lessons starting 4.30pm sharp at the Nabawa

Hall on Sunday 13th September (please note change of

date).

We would love it if experienced dancers could come along and

help Neil, Di and Dave bring us uneducated ones up to

speed! Lessons are a steal at $5 each cash on the night. Chil-

dren welcome at parents responsibility

The Chapman Valley Community Ball Inc. would like to extend a very warm invitation for you, your family and neighbours to come together so that we can have our-selves a right royal little shindig!

The Chapman Valley Community Harvest Ball was a massive night in 2013. The success of the evening just begged to be repeated so we are back - bigger and better! The ball is a very warm and welcoming affair with a bit of rural flair – celebrating where we live, what we do and who we do it with. It is motivated by community pride and open hearts – a desire to dress our local buildings up, dress ourselves up and enjoy a night where we don’t have to cater or run the bar. Tickets are $60 per adult (children under 12 are free). Doors open at 7pm and there are no door sales.

There is a cash bar (no BYO) with quality drinks at reasona-ble prices. We will have some delightful non-alcoholic op-tions too. A simply divine supper by Culinary HQ and dessert is included in the ticket price. You will receive tokens on the way in for door prizes drawn throughout the evening – some rather unique and sure to be treasured prizes! A free photo booth with professional lighting will see a lovely record of the evening arrive in your inbox days after the event. Seating will be available both inside and outside of the hall.

Last time our alfresco area hosted the bar and it was a hit with the crowd – heaters dotted throughout. This year we will be repeating our very popular mega screen slideshow covering the side of the basketball stadium and adding a kid’s corner for kids wanting to retreat from the dance floor

and perhaps have a rest into the evening. There will be no cre che or professional child minding services available so children are very welcome at their parent’s responsibility. The alfresco area will be fenced.

The Harvest Ball shares the date with none other than the AFL Grand Final – and with any luck there’ll be a bit of West-ern Australian representation going on there. What better place than the ball to celebrate a win or forget about a loss? Camping is welcome.

We will be enjoying the sounds of none other than local band Blue Mercy. Mellow tunes to welcome you, formal dancing numbers and classics to make sure we really rock it out in style. In between smoking up the dance floor we have some very special entertainment that will guarantee you have a magical night.

Finally, we will be drawing the winner of our raffle. Gemma Baker of Baker Williamson Studios has donated a stunning wheat pendant to the value of $3150 and further prizes have been generously donated by Burnt Barrel/Nukara and Ath-lete’s Foot Geraldton. $2 tickets are selling very well so get in quick if you want to be in with a chance! Outlets are available on our website.

We hope to have an EFTPOS facility available at the up and coming NCVISSA Athletics Carnival to sell tickets to the ball. Tickets available at the Shire of CV, Bendigo Bank and online. Ticket sales end Monday 28 Sep 2015.

A couple of weeks ago we had three visitors from 'The Right Track Foundation' in Perth host an athlet-

ics clinic here at school. The students were able to further refine their skills before the NCVISSA inter-

school carnival in a couple of weeks. We all had a fantastic time and I couldn't resist putting together a

collage of jump shots! See the advertisement on the following page for a holiday athletics camp the

Right Track Foundation is hosting in Geraldton.
