ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Our Founder & MD: Abby Jamal
• Born in Kenya, family owned a t-shirt factory in Mombasa early 50’s / 60’s
• Textile Graduate from Leicester in the UK
• Started an Apparel importing company in the UK in 1975 – established own brand Jt’s
• Worked as Buying Director for over 25 years
• Sourced globally in the 70s & 80s from Portugal, Colombia, Paraguay, Brazil, Peru for the
EU market
• Sourced and developed T shirts & Polos from Bangladesh & India in 1982
• Imported huge quantity of t-shirts, polos, fleece in to EU from Bangladesh in the period
1982 – 2000
• The idea of starting up ZXY came from meeting buyers during sourcing trips hearing
complaints about lack of transparency, poor quality, delayed shipments and no design and
PD.
• Took up the challenge in year 2000 to create ZXY, a one stop solution for
apparel sourcing.
