ZTE ZXDSL 831 II ADSL router comes preconfigured for SLTBroadband.

To connect to the internet follow the steps below.

Open a web browser. Type http://192.168.1.1 (Default IP address of ADSL router) on

the address space. If the router and computer are in the same network, a Pop up

window will appear to enter the username and password to openthe Graphical User Interface (GUI) of the ADSL router. Enter

Username admin and password ? admin. After enteringusername and password, Web page will be loaded.

Enter the username & password provided by SLT and click onConnect.

However, if you encounter any problem please follow the steps below.

Note: To save the username and password you may follow the followingsteps.

Configuration of Computer / Notebook

Change the IP address of the computer to be in the same network asthe ADSL router. (Default IP address of the ADSL router is192.168.1.1)To do this in Windows XP operating system,

Right click on My Network Places and select Properties. Right click on Local Area Connection and select Properties Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) under General tab and click

on Properties.



Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties Window will appear andselect General tab.

Select Use the following IP address option and type the relevantIP address in the range 192.168.1.2 ~ 192.168.1.254.

Give the relevant subnet mask (255.255.255.0). Give IP address of ADSL router (192.168.1.1) as the Default

Gateway Select Use following DNS Server addresses option and enter

following IP addresses as the DNS Server addresses. Preferred DNS Server 203.115.0.46 Alternate DNS Server 203.115.0.47 Click on OK. Click close on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window.

Open a web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer). Type http://192.168.1.1 (Default IP address of ADSL router) on

the address space. If the router and computer are in the same network, a Pop up

window will appear to enter the username and password to openthe Graphical User Interface (GUI) of the ADSL router. EnterUsername admin and password ? admin. After enteringusername and password, Web page will be loaded.



In the ZXDSL 831 II Home page select Quick setup underQuick Start tab and click Next after entering the VPI = 8 andVCI = 35.

Select connection type as PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) andEncapsulation Mode as LLC / SNAP. Click Next.



Select Obtain an IP address automatically option and tick onEnable NAT. Click Next.

Enter the username & password provided by SLT.



Tick on Enable DHCP server on the LAN option.

Check whether the configured parameters are in theconfiguration summary and if ok press Apply.



Wait until ZXDSL 831 II reboots. To set the DNS server address click on DNS server option and

set the DNS addresses as above.

Configuration of Internet Browser (Internet Explorer)

Tools > Internet Options, Internet Options window will appear. Select Connections Tab Click on LAN Settings Tick on Automatically detect settings Disable all the other options and click OK.

v Now your ZXDSL 831 II router is ready for internet surfing.

v If still you have any difficulty call 1243 and SLT ADSL helpdesk willassist you to complete the installation process.
