I hope 2014 is an enjoyable year that brings new opportunities to develop skills, gain knowledge and make new friends and cross-pollinate ideas with fellow coaches and officials. Each new year is an opportune time for us to reflect on the objects of Pony Club, that is, the reason for our commitment and dedication to a wonderful youth movement. Our objects are:

• To encourage young people to ride and to learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with horses and riding.

• To provide instruction in riding and horsemastership and to instil in members the proper care of their animals.

• To promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty, thereby cultivating strength of character and self-discipline.

•

To summarise, we are about teaching riding skills and the proper care of horses; and instilling in all members the joy of sporting competition and correct behaviours. I look forward to catching with you at clinics and events within our Clubs, Zones and South East Queensland Region. Again, have a great year and enjoy Pony Club. Metropolitan Zone One CIP will introduce in 2011 an Alliance. An Alliance is important to our Coaches and Officials as we value their involvement and contribution to the continuing success of Zone One. An Alliance plays an important role in fostering continuing relationship with Coaches and Officials. When you register as a Coach and/or Officials within Zone One Alliance you enter a community of Coaches and Officials within Zone One. Our Alliance provides a valuable resource for Coaches and Officials networking amongst other Zone One Coaches and/or Officials. The success of the launch and survival of our Alliance depends on the enthusiasm, energy and skills of our Alliance volunteers and the number of Coaches and Officials we attract.
