Nomination Committee Four (4) nominees plus an alternate will be nominated at the September General Meeting which will complete the Nominating Committee. At this time, the committee currently consists of Don Rendall, Dick Shaefer, Joy DeGruccio (alternate), and Bruce Powell.

The Committee will meet prior to the November 19th Board Meeting to select the 2008-09 slate/nominees for Officers and Board of Directors. The requirements for selection for the Nominating Committee and Officers/Director are per Article VI. See the attached list of member attendance for eligibility in this issue.

GDCC Awards & Deadlines There are two important deadlines to keep in mind for this year’s Award Nominations. Please note them down, so you don’t miss them! The sooner you apply for your award(s) the better! November 6, 2008: You may only apply for awards that have been earned on or before this date. November 13, 2008: Please notify Susan Richards by this date (6:00pm) for any and all awards that you are eligible for during this past year. For your convenience, the GDCC Award Rules have been included in this bulletin and have been posted on the club web-site at: http://gdcc.org/awards_rules.html .

After 20 plus years of breeding Rosha Great Danes we began to work with our Danes in a different way. The last 4 1/2 years have been working in the community with our Therapy Dogs Ch. Rosha Lil Bit Country V Raseac CGC/AAA/AAT (“Barkley”) and “Sparky”. Barkley has been an ambassador to his Breed and has shown many people that Great Danes are intelligent caring dogs. We have been blessed with these gentle giants and we are richer for it.
