activities are still in full swing, with operas, concerts
and theatrical shows a daily occurrence.
Surrounding countries are typically only 1 to 2 hours

base from which to explore the rest of Europe.
Location
The property is located in Prague, an ancient
city rich in mythology, culture and history,
in the area known as Old Town Square.
PropertyThe House at The Golden Crown was founded
in 1378. Its long history means that the buil-
ding encompasses elements of Romanesque,
Gothic and predominantly late baroque style
architecture. On its facade the building carries
the insignia of the Imperial Crown in recogni-
tion of its royal pharmaceutical heritage. The
building is solidly constructed from stone and
brick. It has been fully renovated and profes-
sionally restored. Rooms at the front of the
building look out onto the main square with
internal rooms facing a well lit inner courtyard.
The inner courtyard is lined with balconies and
provides a quiet, peaceful environment while
still being located in the city‘s center. At the
rear of the house is a romantic winding alley
providing secondary access.
The Property
Due to the fl exible nature of the buil-
ding, the fi rst and second levels can
be used for either accommodation,
offi ce or retail space while preser-
ving the privacy and independence
of other levels. A secondary staircase
also provides separate access to the-
se areas if desired.
The third and forth levels of the building are connected by an internal
staircase forming an exclusive penthouse of approximately 600 m2.
The third level provides comfortable living space while the fourth level
opens to the largest terrace in central Prague. Up to 40 guests can
easily be entertained while enjoying a 360 degree panoramic view of
the city. Visible from the terrace are Prague Castle, Petrin hill, Tynska
chapel, The National Theatre, The Klementinum astronomical towers
and Prague‘s beautiful array of terracotta rooftops. As there are no
modern high rises on the city‘s skyline, walking onto this terrace is truly
like stepping back in time.
Inside the building, rooms and hallways
are laid with traditional parquet fl ooring
and high ceilings give a sense of space
and grandeur. Interior details have been
meticulously restored to their original
condition, preserving ornaments such
as stoves, fi replaces and engravings.
Large windows provide light and private
views of the surrounding area.
From the foyer of the building, a passage
leads down to a medieval cellar with vaulted
ceilings and Gothic portals. Preserved as
part of the cellar are the remains of an
original Romanesque house. This area is
now utilised as a wine store as it maintains
an ideal temperature for the storage of
wine throughout the year.
