H2010For my Holiday 2010 collection, I chose to conjure images of a forest fading into a beach. Foliage fading into the shore, with colors ranging from greens, and khakis to blues, grays and sand. Like a lost traveler taking an unexpected turn and finding new terrain.
Opting for a muted palette I wanted a lived in and vintage feel but I inserted subtle details such as piping, cut-outs, and buttons to give it a contemporary feel. I chose to marry tailored and relaxed silhouettes to have a sense of light formality, making them versatile pieces.
Key pieces like cozy knit tops are paired with slouchy tailored corduroy pants, and sleeveless jersey shirts matched with a detailed twill mini skirts. All these muted, relaxed and tailored pieces come together to conjure a traveler who ventures out of comfortable territory and finding new horizons to discover.
